2015 troubles already
So I literally just bought a 2015 f-150 Saturday morning and on the drive home when hitting the gas the truck feels like it is struggling to accelerate and it seems the turbo goes down to zero at full throttle and also the check engine light starts flashing. Once you left off the break it seems the truck then starts to shake for a little bit then it seems fine. My friends at work tried saying it was govners and the lift and tires until they took a ride in it. The truck at one point tried to shut off. I rode in my friends Ecoboost and his hauls ***. There isn’t much go in mine unless it’s at the start and low RPM’s.
I bought the truck in Tampa and they told me to bring it on back. Tampa is 2 hours from me and I work weekends overnights. I left as soon as I got off work Monday morning and basically all they could do was run the codes for the check engine light. They told me it was throwing some emissions codes. They told me it was still under warranty for the emissions and I would need to take it to a Ford dealer. I wasn’t happy considering I just worked 14hr shift and there is a Ford dealer 5 minutes from my house. They told me they really wanted to help me but they really didn’t work on fords since there a Cadillac fiat and Alfa Romeo dealer. They said they would do whatever to make it right though.
Anyway, I got all the way back home and I dropped it off at Ford this morning and I told them I purchased a bumper to bumper warranty through the dealer where I got it and they are trying to act like more then likely the warranty I bought won’t cover anything because they are going to say this is pre-existing. Anyways I’m now having to pay to have my truck checked and who knows if it will be covered or not.
Sorry for the long rant but I’m frustrated because I looked for a truck with all the options I wanted and now that I found it, of course, it has problems from the beginning. I just hope this truck doesn’t end up being like my ex-wife. Always taking me to the bank. Rant over.

This was a year ago, so I don't recall exactly what the issue was, but I believe they had to replace all of the ignition coil packs.
Hope this helps

They just called me and told me I have a 304A miss-fire and that my cats are shot. I have seen the paperwork that I have a 96 month/80k mile emission warranty and they are acting like they don't know if it will be covered. It's frustrating that everyone wants money but nobody wants to pay up lol. Anyway, I'm just going to be patient until no one will step up to fix this mess.

No fart cans allowed
The cats are covered under the factory warranty due to federal emissions requirements - for 8 years/80k miles. That is IF none of the components have been tampered with.

What did you pay for it and how many miles? Also please fill out your sig line so we don't have to guess.

I paid 33k for it. Of all the research I did 33k didn’t see too much due to all the options it had. My downfall is I let emotion get in the way lol.

You may want to check the intake ducting as the 3.5 liter turbo has a propensity for blowing them off the intake manifold. That may be what was killing the cats!

He he said the turbo was leaking and would look further into it tomorrow. The guy that’s working on it is my neighbor so we will see how this goes. He said it was definitely a misfire in one of the cylinders but like you stated I want to fix the real problem and not just the after math from the problem.
I may end up taking it to a local mechanic after it’s done to look through it just to be on the safe side because you just can’t trust people anymore.

Well that sucks. For what you paid for a 4 year old out of warranty truck plus the extended warranty you bought (I pray that you got the the official Ford warranty and not a BS worthless aftermarket one) and a few thousand more (at most) you could have gotten a brand new 2018. I hope it works out for you.

I highly doubt I could get a lariat with all the bells and whistles this has for just a few thousand more but I guess I could be wrong. I guess we will see if the global warranty I got will cover any other expenses if there are any.
