2015 Topper Wiring
I've read some posts in here and saw some images from the topper dealers to tap into the purple with white stripe wire behind the driver side kick panel. I tried this with no luck. Wondering if someone can expand on the process.
Maybe someone can point out where I went wrong. In the picture below, you can see the wire I was working with. In the picture I just have it spliced back together. But I did tap into it with a wire that I fished back to the topper. I tested the wire with a volt meter and it wasn't getting any juice at all (tested with brake applied).

Kent7351, I too am looking for a way to do this to my 2019 F150. I have seen another post where the author says the purple and white wire is in a black connector. I haven't got there yet because I'm having trouble getting the kick plate off. I removed the door sill plate but I don't want to force the kick plate off and break it. It's resisting me. Can you tell me how you got the kick plate off? If I get the right wire I'll post my findings. Thanks

Site is acting up, I will see if I can get the pictures to load in a bit

Anyone else seeing weird site issues and posting? The main forum page is not updating with read topics.

Those are great pics to help locate the proper brake wire. Thanks for posting them. I'm still having difficulty getting the kick plate off. I pulled the door sill plate off and tried pulling the kick plate back towards the door but it seems to be stuck. Can you explain how you got the kick plate off?

Pull up the part under the kick plate, then pull away from the pillar. I think the door seal may also need to be pulled away, but its been a while.

You were right on. Had to pull the door seal away. I found there is also a clip on the bottom of the kick plate that fits into a slot on the trim under the sill plate. The metal part of this clip was deformed and I did have to pry it a bit to get it to pop up. I shaped it back like the other clips on this plate before I reinstalled it. I hooked up to the purple / white wire on the black connector - just like your pictures. Works like a charm. Only real pain was running a wire from the corner of the box to the underside of the driver's floor just under the edge of the carpet. All good now. Thanks again for your help.
