I'm not sure, but I think most if not ALL semi trucks are aluminum bodies with fiberglass hoods. I'm not sure they were ever 1/4" steel even WAY back. I mean that is like an amored vehicle or something.

That's why they make the body panels on semis out of 1/4" steel, the heavier they are, the better they are for towing !
