2015 owners with the 40/20/40 bench...here's my upgrade
In a few threads here and there, I've mentioned my dislike for the cloth armrest. I have zero problems with my cloth seats. They're exactly what I wanted, but to me the armrest should have been leather. Just like it was in my cloth Ram with the 40/20/40 bench.
For one I think the leather will look better longer and not get as dirty as I would expect the cloth to get in this high wear area.
Probably the biggest benefit is the more premium feel. I ordered a leather cover out of a '15 Lariat. Installed in minutes with with two T20 torx heads.
Cloth on the left. Leather on the right. The leather matches the cupholder perfectly.
Fuzzy pic...I was in a rush on lunch break. It comes attached to the tray.
I don't have that seat configuration, but that is awesome! I can't believe Ford doesn't just make it that way. Agree, fabric would get filthy in that location.
My cloth is a hair darker but the new leather console matches the cup holder color perfectly. It fits/matches the color of the truck just fine. And my opinion should come this way from the factory.
Great upgrade OP! My 3 days with a rental with the jump seat that hole lid felt cheap to me. Curious if anyone else agrees. My only gripe with any of the trims interiors really. Think Ford could have done better with that console lid. Ill be getting the bucket seats.
