Default 2015 Lariat 4A?

Hey all, I have a friend asking my opinion on getting a 2015 F-150 Lariat. Of course I'm going to mention the various issues 2015's had and the lack of Sync 3.

Can someone refresh my memory, my 2016 Lariat has 4A, but this truck doesn't seem to have it when looking at the pics. Was that only a 2016 thing? 4A is in the 2015 owners manual. Also, I'm wondering what's going on this with truck, the grill is....odd and it appears to have the Sport package but with 20" wheels from the chrome package.

The price seems decent, 38K when the KBB range on it for this area is $39,116 - $46,183. I will need to see if there are any tricks or gimmicks in that $10,171 "instant savings".

Thought so! So I wonder what the deal with this truck in my link is. Maybe a down level trim? It's got the auto folding mirrors like a lariat does. So weird.

Not the one in those pictures. Very strange. I wonder if the switch was replaced for some reason with the wrong one.

My 2015 502A has the 4A option but this one doesn't have it. Maybe the 501A didn't get the 4A? Looks like the grille has been replaced with an aftermarket grille and the wheels/tires swapped from a chrome package truck. Maybe it needed new tires and the dealer had some laying around and swapped them. Who knows.

yeah, and the grill too, it's a three bar grill, but that ain't a stock Lariat grill. The wheels were also not available on the sport package that the truck seems to have. I think I might tell my friend to pass on it and look at CarMax or something. You can get something very similar with less miles for not much more $$

I thought that too. New tires at 21K miles tho seems odd.

Truck also could have been traded in for a truck with chrome package. The owner may have had aftermarket wheels and had the dealer swap the wheels and tires to the new chrome package truck and put the chrome wheels on the trade in truck.

Looks like it's debadged---possible the original owner had it looking good with aftermarket wheels, maybe sold the old ones, then got some chrome wheels and put them on there when trading it. I'm more concerned about the 4A thing tho.

lol yeah i just posted that. Ugh, I hate buying used. This is why if I ever buy used I think I'll stick to CarMax. You are pretty much guaranteed no funny business with their inventory.
