Default 2015 Halogen to LED Headlight Conversion

I changed out my headlights from halogen to LED, changed the marker lights to white, and attached a flasher to make them flash like corner strobes.

Check out my video (no sound).

Is this conversion still expensive, around $1650?

Not sure what you mean. But here is what I did:

Bought the OEM Ford LED headlights that came with the Raptor Retrofit wiring harness so it would plug into my Halogen wiring harness.

I ordered the Diode Dynamics switchback LED boards that change the markers to white then amber for turn signals. These headlights can be ordered from Stage 3 Motorsports with the switchback boards already installed. (doing it myself was a huge pain in the a**.)

I took the headlights apart and switched the boards out by following this "how to".

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/how-o...l-bhlm-326327/

I took out the old headlights and installed the new headlights and added a relay and a Whelen ULF44 flasher to the white marker light connected to a switch, so that the marker light would function normally and strobe on command.

Mgronda - I bought the OEM headlights for $1600 and that included the wiring harness. And the switchback boards for $100.

The ones predone from stage 3 motorsports are $2,150.

The flasher is like $60, the relay $8. + wiring and time.

So... it cost me about $1800 to do it myself vs $2150, although I would have rather paid the money due to the difficulty of opening the headlights.

I have a passenger side complete LED headlight for sale on here, currently at only $560 shipped within the continental 48 U.S. You would just need to buy the other (driver) side one. Let me know if you are interested.

How long have you had these?

I bought my blacked out switchback version from a guy online that had just bought them from Dawson at RaptorRetrofit. Before I bought them ($1,780), I made sure Dawson would back the warranty and since they were only a couple of weeks old, it made perfect since.

Dawson agreed to back the warranty but I have had continual problems out of the lights since the day I bought them. Hyper flash on the dash, one headlight not working with DRL often, and several times one outer LED amber while the other is on white.

Dawson sent replacement modules 2x in 6 months and references it must be a moisture issue, which it wasn't. I have lubed up all connections with dielectric grease and used nearly a roll of tape per side on the connections.

Now my driver side outer LED is completely unresponsive; I was told I had to mail the headlight in. I let my halogens go (was never told to keep them), and now in order to get my problem fixed I either need to be without my truck for 1.5 weeks or buy some halogens. Not my idea of a good warranty plan.

Hope you all have better luck than me, but this ordeal has been nothing but trouble.

They actually do match, the camera just didn't do a good job of showing that.
