I almost have a sad chuckle when I think of this issue and how people are waiting for ford to "fix" the issue.... then I think back to my old 2005 Ford Five Hundred that had this exact issue still to this day for my dad, and they did a recall on that vehicle too. Just seems like Ford can't figure out door latches and keep chugging along. Too bad that it's really holding me back from taking the plunge on my dream F-150. I remember the days of holding my door on the way to work. Can't imagine ever wanting to go back to that.

I have a 1 month old 2018 F-150 Limited. This morning about 20 degrees my passenger door would not shut. The running board kept cycling in and out while driving. Very frustrating. Thank you to the forum for bringing light to this problem.

18 degrees and 71% humidity last night. Driver's door would not shut this morning. Stood outside for 30 minutes with the wife's hair dryer to get it to work. Did the above fix tonight except I opted to use Kroil. Hoping for the best.

Well... over all I love my F-150 Plat. and frankly there are probably a vast majority of vehicles like mine that do NOT have this issue.... Russian Roulette I call it.... harsh winter is almost gonna end before long.... the "work-around" helps most folks it seems.... Just Do It..... smile...AZPLAT

Took my truck to the dealer to have the recall done, made an appointment three weeks out because of how booked they said they were. Drove an hour to the dealer, and was told to go pound sand. Said unless they had documentation that it was freezing stuck, they would not bother fixing it. Said it wasn't a recall either. I was red hot.

This appears to be a safety issue, especially for the people who have unfortunately experienced the door popping open while driving. I've filed a complaint with NHTSA and encourage anyone else with the problem to do the same. Hopefully Ford can be pressured to finally fix this problem with enough reports from affected customers.

I just dropped My 18 150 off at the Dealers. It's my understanding there going to seal everything. They told me they have did one and it took 8 hours. I had the shield put on all a month or better ago. That didn't work. I ask if this will fix it they said don't know it's supposed to. So i guess i'll see.

Ive still have had zero trouble if i warm the truck up for about 10 mins before trying the doors. And every morning its been in the 20's they have froze and i got bounce back. If i didnt warm it up.

Just a update.... i'll post after i get a chance to test it.

I just dropped my 2018 off this morning and the dealer is doing the same thing for me. No replacement as my truck was already supposed to have the updated latches. I am in Toronto Canada and its been about -2 Celsius for the last week so we will see if this fixes it or not.
