I finally get mine working without any issues using the Ghetto fix and then get the truck totaled by a stolen car in a police pursuit here in the Chicago ghetto. -- Bought 2018 Roush and I start all over again.. 12 degrees today so I went to the car wash just to see what would happen. A mid October 2018 build, one of the last 2018's made. -- so far so good, haven't done a thing to it yet.

Thanks mtech and tmcolegr for the link to this "new" TSB published (attached below) Jan 19, 2019 by Ford. Here is my short take on it.....

This "new" TSB (29 pages, 66 steps, 1.9-3.3 hrs. labor/door) looks awfully familiar..... smile.... and my educated guess is that it will work about as well as the prior TSBs and Recall..... but I will leave it to you folks to be the jury!!!....any takers!!???.......Ford is certainly blowing tons of $$s and credibility along the way!!!!.......AZPLAT

Did they do something wrong? Not adjust something properly?
More/less same issue here. Had the recall done on my 16 SCREW week before last. Now both front locks (certainly drivers side) are much louder when unlocking compared to before. The only functional issue I had prior to the work was the rear passenger door. The colder the weather, the less likely it would unlock on the first try. Even after trying a few times, and having it unlock, just closing the door back would jar the lock **** down and back to the locked position. I told the service writer about this problem but apparently they didn't address it specifically or their fix didn't work. It was 50+° when I picked it up, so of course it functioned fine at that time. Swing and a miss....

Ghetto fix worked for me. -37 with windchill today and closes like new. I went one step further and removed door panel and sprayed massive ammounts of wd40 then followed with wd40 GEL. I hope they make a permanent fix cause having to "winterize" your doors once a year isnt why i bought a new truck. ( If the fix lasts the rest of the winter. Knock on wood)

My dad tried the truck today. Overnight temps with wind chills up to -20%F and both doors and tailgate functioned like they should! Was very wet after pouring yesterday after snowfall and then sudden temp drop overnight. The gel lube and removed plugs seem to be working on drivers door, passenger was left stock for now.

I’m done with this truck.....my 2016 had the frozen latches, had the recall done on it, same issue, then it’s trans went, twice, so Ford helped me trade in for a 2018....this thing is just as big of a piece of junk as the 16 was. IWE issues, and now, as I’m leaving the house this morning, the door flung open in my 8 mo old Son’s door...here is a video of me trying to get the door closed. I’m done with this truck, and Ford. Wife has a 2017 Ford Escape, but that will be the last Ford in my driveway.

I had just dropped my truck off 2 hours before seeing Post 122 above. Driving home last night at 4 degrees F the doors would not close. We drove for 12 miles on the expressway until the next exit where there would be enough heat in the cab to help warm the doors to get them to latch. This morning I could not get in the cab of the truck, door handles were almost like frozen in place. I was able to enter through one of the back doors. When I showed to the dealer they said they never heard of it happening. So then they went outside to see it happen (they could not open the door from outside) and when they pulled the truck in and closed the door it bounced back open. They were quite surprised to see that. They immediately told me they would give me a rental until mine is fixed. I printed this bulletin and will be taking it down to the dealer in 2 hours and tell them that I want this repair done.
I have read most of the posts up to this point and one of the things that i have noticed is all of the water in or condensation in the doors. I have been getting my truck washed a few times a week and have had the bouncing open doors multiple times, door locks that unlock and re-lock in a second, outside door handles that only move 50% of the way to open the door. I do not get the truck washed while it is below 30 out so I don't end up with a ice covered truck and have not had that happen.
Dealer said that they ordered the kits included in the TSB which did not include latches that I noticed. So it will be interesting to see if this fixes the issue.

I have 2018, all the same stuff going on.....now what seems interesting about all these band aid repairs, they all require the spraying of some goop inside the door on the mechanism.....so I'm thinking perhaps ford should just rustproof all the doors with crown or ??, seems easy enough, wand would fit right in there. Thinking to have the new 19 doors all treated later this year after delivery...opinions ??

After reading all the threads about this, it seems , and correct me if wrong, did this all start with the aluminium body change....if so what was changed in that door, and why more the drivers door, as mine is just that one. Only vehicle with electric doors I have ever had like this.
