So far Ive been lucky only my rear driver side is the only one that has had the problem since new, 2016 crew cab. I have not had any of the so called fixes done my dealership basically told me it was a waste of time until Ford comes up with a true fix.

Default F-250s too!!

I suspected so (I thought I had seen earlier posts to that effect) but just got a PM from an owner who had the problem on his 2016.... had it bought back and thinking Ford had the problem fixed went for a 2017....... "I went with a (2017) F-250... wrong choice because I’m back in this situation again."

Makes sense that the SD should have the same issues but I personally had not heard much on the subject...... oh well.... here is a link to a SD Forum thread on their fate with the recall..... they are in the same boat it seems..... I posted a link to our thread on their Site so we can "cross-pollinate" news and ideas....

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...n-18n03-9.html

Meanwhile, we all continue to await reports on Ford's supposed update on the Recall Process..... they are totally mum on this, or so it seems.... and I will be very surprised if it does any better correcting whatever the root issue is than their other feeble attempts..... will see....always hopeful!!.... Thanks to those that suggested the removal of the rubber plugs and gel type lubricant my dad's '18 RCSB drivers door has been opening with remote fine in the 10-20%F morning of late. We let it sit in heated garage for a week then did the work and left it outside since then. Been a month or so with no issues.

For those people saying the fix doesn’t work.

my doors would freeze without fail every single morning it was below freezing. For months it did this. I just got the service done and my doors haven’t froze in over a week.

It definitely works.

You are one of the lucky ones. Mine did not. I checked with 2 other service managers from local dealers and both said the fix is hit and miss. I am glad it worked for you. I hope it stays that way as well. One of my colleagues at work has a 2016 and never had an issue. Both my past 2015 and current 2018 are terrible for the lock issue. All TSB's applied. Different dealers as well. Frustrating for those that continue to have the issue. I did the "ghetto fix" last night on 3 of the 4 doors. I want to see if there is improvement in the same conditions. Washed the car. Today all doors worked (go figure) It is going to get very cold this weekend so will be a good test.

Same with our drivers door, day after having the recall done was frozen. With the spray/plugs removed it has not done it even after car wash.

Have you washed your truck since the dealer did the 18N03?

It is looking more and more like removing the plugs per Post #2 and then lubing is getting the job done for most!! Looks like condensation/ventilation more than water entry, per se..... but again, we await the "Brain Trust" at Ford to provide the ultimate solution and probably a re-design of sorts.... IMHO..... I deliberately washed my truck yesterday during the rain we were getting (36F at the time). Parked it after driving it home a whopping 2 blocks. It then changed to freezing rain/sleet/6" of wet heavy snow. It is now 14F and 30mph wind. I am getting ready to go check all 4 doors before remote starting it. This is the real test.
