[RESOLVED] 2015 F-150 Bluetooth Audio Cutting In/Out?
Hey there,
I did some quick searching and could not find any other threads where anyone else has run into this so I figured I'd post.
I own a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT (302A Package - MyFordTouch w/ Sync 2 & Center console touch screen). I have my Samsung Galaxy S8 phone connected via Bluetooth and use it to stream audio (music) to my truck's stereo/entertainment system. It automatically connects and picks up playing music when I start the truck, however after I begin to drive down the road the bluetooth (or at least the music/audio) will cut out, play, cut out again, play, then be fine for the rest of the ride. This happens after I've been driving for approximately half a mile. Does this happen to anyone else? The cutting in and out happens within a couple of seconds and isn't too annoying but I figured this isn't supposed to be happening. I've got it set to automatically download my contacts and messages, so maybe that is a potential issue? It also seems dependent on the distance the vehicle has traveled, not how long the vehicle has been turned on or playing music. I can have my truck idling in my driveway for a good 10-15 minutes, no problems with audio, but the minute I put it in drive and reach that half a mile, the cutting in and out happens but after that I have no issues. This is really odd. My truck has about 10 months of warranty left (factory) and then another 5 years of extended warranty, so I'm trying to figure out if I should have this examined by the dealership if there a potential issue with the APIM module. If anyone else has experienced this, I'd like to know.
Thank you!

Resolved this issue. Did a master reset on the head unit/center touch screen. When re-connecting phone, did not enable contacts or the truck to access my text messages. No issues anymore. I suspect the truck was attempting to re-download contacts, messages and my phone's call logs after shifting into drive and getting on the road.
I disabled the automatic download of contacts but later went in and manually downloaded them, no problem and no cutting/skipping with music/entertainment audio anymore.
Something to note is that if you do this master reset, you'll need to re-configure your remote start and climate control settings after shutting off the vehicle.
