Anyway just rumours not worth getting worked up about now we'll know in 48 hours
The 2.7 will most likely replace the base 3.7 v6, would be my guess.

Ford will really blow me away if it announces a 4 cyl diesel sequential EB for f150. Remember Ford is searching / reaching for 28 MPG's in F150 soon.

If we put a diesel in the f150 it would be the inline 5 that's in the transit for 2015. Also 28mpg isn't out of reach for the 2015 f150 with a 3.5 ecoboost 2wd.

You tease, you. You're probably tired of looking at it already.

well, if they are coming up with smaller diesel motor that gets good mpg (good for diesel gotta be 25+) and not on regular cab two wheel drive, I know them companies they will tell you 25mpg.. it is on a basic truck that no one will buy but companies and guess what it don't get 25 when it is a company truck because guys beat the crap out of them.
anyways, 4cyl turbo diesel sounds like music to my ears, but if it gonna cost gazillion dollar and gets 23mpg then they can keep it and i will keep my gazer i am happy with the performance and mpg but i can go for a diesel rumble. O well just wait till tomorrow

Didn't motor trend just test Ram's new 1500 diesel and return 28mpg on a 2wd with a 3.15 rear end ? And I think 26 with the 4wd and a ~3.55-.73

I thought a lot of guys weren't behind the idea of a half ton diesel anymore because of the price of fuel?
I guess it'd be cool again if Ford jumped in?

The 2.7 sounds very promising, if those numbers are legit - that;s plenty strong for what most people need out of a half ton and should get damn good economy as well.

I'm super excited about the '15. I do love my '13 fx2, but maybe tempted. I'll likely wait another year or so. Let you guys that want to pay sticker get them first. I'll wait till the discounts come in.

I thought Ford had made a statement that they would never have a diesel option in the F150? Those are reserved for the F250 and higher.
