Default 2015 F150 Price Estimate..

So I saw the pictures of the new F150 as almost all of you have... I immediately thought, I gotta have it! I have been considering going to Platinum, however still considering an FX4. I figured I would get in touch with my dealership and ask them to call me when order books open..

However, I thought about price.. I thought, hmm a good estimate in increase would be to look at the last major update from 2008 to 2009... Looking at the high-end model then (Lariat 4X4 Screw) the price increase from 08' to 09' was just about $9,000...

Well looking at the current base price of a 2014 Platinum 4X4 at just a hair over $50,000... This same increase would put the 2015 Platinum 4X4 would just just about $60,000... Which to be is getting a little crazy... But then I have the question of competing with Dodge and Chevy which both have a fully loaded, high-end model toping out at just about $52,000 (same as current Platinum) and were both just updated for 2014.. However, neither can compete with Ford..

So this leads me to wondering could a 2015 Platinum really cost $60,000... I love my F150 but I believe when we are getting up over $60,000 I would soon find something I would much rather have in that price range (C7 Vette, GT500, ZL1, BMW...etc)

Does anyone else have an input in what they believe to be the price increase?

All I can say is ford knows what they're doing and a platinum is an f150 regardless therefore it's still their bread and butter and they're still going to sell a lot. I agree there are a lot more expenses but they do have to price competitively and appropriately as a lot of people are making less money. They've done a lot of things to save money too though so id say don't work yourself up about it yet, they know what they're doing

My 2013 FX4 stickered for $55,800. A comparable GMC Sierra stickers for $59,900, An equivelent 2015 FX4 will likely sticker for about $62,000-$65,000, in which case Ford will likely offset the higher price with better rebates. At least I hope so, otherwise my '13 will be the nicest truck I'll ever own.

There is no way they don't have a plan. The economy is down so they know if they over price they just won't sell. There's a plan, they'd murder their sales if they didn't have a way of working out the prices to be competitive.

And hey, remember you and I are going to be at the head of dealers so don't worry about that haha

Haha. Well regardless of our situations, they need to be priced competitively, I'm not worried about it

This post made me wonder, what in the world options you had on your FX4 to get it to $56,000... I have a 2013 FX4 SCREW fully loaded with a sticker of just at $50,000... Then I noticed you're in Canada! haha

This is my fear. I never thought I would buy a $50,000 truck. And now that I've gone Platinum, I would have to go there on the new one. If it is pushing $60,000, I would just have to rethink that. Not sure if my X-Plan pricing and rebates will get me to a price I am comfortable with...

Why would it have a 10,000 price increase? That is un realistic. It will go up maybe a grand.

Why do you need a platinum model?

Trading in a 2013 you will take a bath in thousands of dollars anyhow.

Not necessarily.

f150s took a big jump from '13-14' to soak up some of bigger jump from '14-'15.

I would guess a real world 2-3k increase.
