Exclamation 2015 F150 hit an elk... F*CK

Hello everybody,

I'm new to the forums here, not really a good introduction but I currently own a 2015 F150 which I hit an Elk with last night going full speed at around 60miles/100km an hour...

Im fine, I think.

Officers on the scene said my truck looks like a write off but I do have collision & comprehensive full replacement on it and $300 deductible repair costs if its repairable so that's a plus.

Here's a picture below, what do you guys think?

Write off or can it be fixed? (All-aluminum btw)

UPDATE: Adjuster called today and we spoke and he said it will be towed to the repair shop that I had chosen. Now the only question is...when can I except to be back on the road?

Glad you're ok. Airbags go off?

Nope airbags did not go off!

Do you guys think it will be a total loss/write off?

If he didn't slide up your wind shield and crinkle the cab, I bet it won't be totalled. Just a guess. Good luck, glad you're ok!

I say it's not totaled. Especially if airbags did not deploy. Most insurance will go up to 80% of the value to repair. So if tuck is worth 25,000 they will pay up to 20,000 to repair. Also the adjuster and dealer that is repairing it make a difference. Seen 2 different places give 2 very different quotes to repair the same Daamge.

I'm no expert, but since your airbags didn't go off, that would suggest to me that the damage is superficial.

I haven't priced front body panels, grilles, or headlamps but I'd imagine that your truck will be worth more than the repair.

Glad you're ok, but your accident makes me want to move a grille guard higher up my wish list.

I agree with the others - if the airbags didn't go off it won't be totaled. I'm surprised there isn't more damage from hitting an elk at 60 mph. At least you apparently weren't hurt.

Lets not forget this is military grade aluminum, costs are double.

So what exactly will happen now that I've made a claim and everything?
