I would love to put twin turbos on. But going to have to wait awhile for that

What kind of cost were you into with the gear swap? I just want to go to 3.73 if I don't buy new truck first.

Default 4.10 gears

update on gears. I did go with 4.10. Love them. Got my towing power back plus some. Get 18 to 18.5 on the hwy at 65mph. Plus got new tune ( MPT). Now the truck is a beast off the line. Have raced the 2.7 eco and 3.5 eco plus a Chevrolet 6.2 with a tune. Beat them all. Not saying it’s the baddest. But Is a beast now. Looking at the Boss 302 intake now. Anybody have one on and what’s the outcome

Save your money and buy a blower. Seriously.

I’m looking to make the switch from 3.31s to 4.10s as well. Where did you get yours and did you need to get a install kit for the front and the rear or just the gears? Also what did it all cost ya?

I’ve got a 2 wheel drive. I had a shop in Beaumont Texas. Parsons Differential Put the new gear in. They put Ford Racing gear and had to put one new bearing in. They already had the shims. It was $939.

had mine done about a month ago. (from 3.31 to 4.10) I'm just finishing up the break in period, so I haven't really gotten on it, but I can already tell a difference. In the break in period I feel my mpg went down slightly. Time will tell. Cost for me was $1600 parts and labor(i'm 4x4) I also added the B&M cover while I was getting it done.

relatively light tires or mpg focus:
33s = 3.73
35s = 4.10
37s = 4.56

heavier tires or performance focus:
33s = 4.10
35s = 4.56
37s = 4.88

power/torque is irrelevant

Generally speaking, mpg is based on mechanical advantage, vehicle weight, aerodynamics, rolling resistance and driving style. You will lose mpgs when going to a larger/heavier tire. You can offset some of that loss with the appropriate gear but not all.
