You can add me to the list, I own a 2015 302A SCREW XLT 5.0L, Long box, 4x4 sport. Since day one driving home from dealer (250+ miles ) I noticed a slight vibration. My vibration is consistent at speed anywhere from 35-55MPH then tapers off. First thought, the truck has been sitting on the lot its got some flat spots in the tires, nope! Truck now has about 3000miles on it and the vibration still lingers. Unfortunately I am utterly terrified to take my truck to any of the Ford dealers in my area. My last vehicle 2009 Ford Focus they wreaked havoc on, even on the most simple of jobs, but yet it was never their fault. I'm really hoping some find a solution for this and quick.

It could be any number of driveline related problems but the best place to start is with driveline geometry and carrier bearings. The real problem is that Ford has induced its dealers over the last six years to treat all warranty issues with obfuscation to reduce payouts. They even went to court to contain the problem, the EcoBoost water induction problem.

This problem has been around for years, and on all F-series drivelines. Mine is getting done next week. Shimming is an ad-hoc fix to a deficient design and value engineering problem.

See: Below...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TSB: DRIVE-AWAY SHUDDER OR VIBRATION
There is a TSB for this vibration....in which they tell you to add shims to the center support. Sheez.
DRIVE-AWAY SHUDDER OR VIBRATION
FORD:
1999-2007 F-Super Duty
This article supersedes TSB 05-17-6 to update the vehicle model years.
ISSUE
Some 1999-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit excessive drive-away shudder or vibration, under moderate to heavy acceleration from a stop. This may be due to driveline angle.
ACTION
Shim the center carrier bracket downward to correct the condition. Refer to the following Service Procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
When shimming the center carrier bracket, a maximum of three (3) 1/4" shims may be used (EOTZ-4A209-A). When refastening the carrier bracket use bolt (56564-S2). A 7/16 x 14 grade 5 bolt may be substituted providing that it extends at least three (3) threads past the nut. Use Motorcraft® Threadlock 262, and torque bolts to 46 lb-ft (62 N.m).
NOTE IF THE VEHICLE IS NORMALLY LOADED, ROAD TESTS WILL NEED TO BE PERFORMED WITH THE VEHICLE LOADED.
1.Before beginning the repair, road test the vehicle to gain a feel for the harshness of the shudder/vibration.
2.Install one (1) shim, (DO NOT use threadlock on the bolts at this point), re-road test vehicle.
a.If condition is corrected, apply threadlock and torque bolts as directed above.
b.If condition is not corrected, re-perform step 2 (to a maximum of three (3) shims) and reevaluate vehicle.
NOTE IF THE CONDITION IS STILL NOT CORRECTED AFTER INSTALLING A MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) SHIMS, REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL SECTION 205-00 FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS.
Fringe, This vibration is nothing like what is described above in this TSB. This TSB claims a Shudder or vibration under acceleration from a dead stop. I don't feel as if that is the problem here. This vibration is at speed and only happens in a specific range the dissipates. For example on my truck. ( Not sure how similar this is for others experiencing this.)
Cruising at a speed of 55MPH the vibration is felt in the Steering wheel, Pedals, Seat, and shifter. The vibration will disappear if the slightest bit of pressure is applied to the gas pedal, then when you remove the pressure, and allow the truck to slow naturally the vibration will continue all the way down to about 38MPH then disappear.
More recently I have noticed that the truck will behave differently from day to day. By that I mean that the magnitude of the vibration will change, on day A, it will feel very slight. Yet, and day B, the vibration is 10x worse.
To top it all off the range of this vibration is very annoying as it is in most if not all of the legal speed for my area.
Have you looked into the driveshaft angles? My 15 was the EXACT same as you are describing. I measured my angles before I went to dealer. It was 2 degrees out at the pinion. They shimmed are per my direction. Vibration gone.
Can you provide info on how one can measure this and what you are looking for, would make a great sticky.
My dealer has taken receipt of a pinion setup and lock nut set. I have advised them, thanks to you, that the driveline angles must be taken into account or all will be for nought.
This is without any forensic examination on their part other than three test drives. They are just guessing, but its a good pace to start.
I hold my nose and take my truck in next Tuesday. I had serious driveline issues on my '13 and they avoided them the entire 40,000-75,000 km period, eventually installing new spark plugs when I thought they were going to fix the issue.
The truck was traded into them, never fixed, and sold again at a $7500 profit by them.
Count me in! I have a 15 SCREW Lariat FX4 with the 18" sport rims, Goodyear wrangler tires. I complained about this to the dealer and they put the truck on the lift and said it all looked OK. Yeah, didn't even drive it. Idiots! How can you tell someone you diagnosed a vibration without even driving the truck?
Mine starts to vibrate at about 55, gets real bad around 75 and up. you can see the passenger seat vibrating as others mentioned.
I've had a lot of trucks in my life, most lifted with up to 35 inch tires. Non of them vibrated like this one does and it is still stock.
I have some bigger tires and a leveling kit that I want to put on, but I know as soon as I do that, the dealer will blame the problem on that. I want to get it fixed first, but it doesn't appear ford is doing anything about it.
I buy a new truck every few years, this is the first time I bought a ford (sorry I never liked them Until this model F150) Overall, I like the truck, but its annoying, and embarassing to buy a 57,000 truck that vibrates worse going down the road than my 1965 GTO.
I really hope this gets fixed soon, My teeth are chattering...
