As of now it shows it as an advanced notice parts not available yet

When he advises parts are available, I will post the BOM for the recall parts... hopefully not just a rewarming of TSBs that many claim were not effective!! AZPLAT

Default TSB 16-0155 didn't work for me

Hey folks,

I've had this issue on my 2016 F150 since I purchased. I had it in to have the rain shield TSB 16-0155 performed and still had the issue after. My service manager at my dealer is telling me that there is a flag on TSB 16-0155 and a don not perform note because it does not work and they are working on a proper fix.

Anyone have any information on this "new fix"?

Good to see that a safety recall has been issued because it should mean the issue will get the appropriate focus it needs.

Thanks in advance,

P

Yeh, like I noted on an above post, right now the Recall is at an "Advance Notice" status with parts not yet available (and probably no list of applicable parts!?) and they meanwhile will put a hold on any TSB installs as the recall should supersede the TSBs..... will it be "different" or "Better" in either different parts used or procedures... that remains to be seen doesn't it!! ....

I will keep my ear to the ground and report when I hear that it is beyond that stage.....if anyone else gets faster news, shout it out...... AZPLAT

Not sure if my truck falls under this recall, but i just purchased it about a month ago and it has developed an issue to where if I open the door from the inside, it will not close or latch until I lock and unlock it multiple times. It works just fine if opened from the outside. Its a 2017 regular cab, the problem is with both doors. It almost seems like there is an issue with the cable from the interior handle to the latch assembly. Its at the dealer now, we shall see what they say.

2016 F150, super crew.
Northern Alberta, Canada.

I have not had any doors freeze on me yet, but I did have the tailgate freeze in subzero temperature. I have a hard tonneau cover which prevented me from pulling on the gate from the back. I unlocked it with the fob, heard the unlock click, but could not get it to open by pulling on the handle.

After a few attempts, it finally opened. I did not notice any ice build up on the sides or hinges.

is there a way to prevent this from happening until the dealer fixes the issue?

I do not believe that anyone has found a true cause/fix. Several members tried things on their own but not sure that ANYONE has found the secret to preventing or fixing this problem with 100% certainty.... I have not had the problem myself....knock wood.... but hopefully with a recall Ford has indeed all of the answers....AZPLAT
