I dropped my truck off to have the TSB done last week. They also swapped the tailgate actuator for me as well since the tailgate had frozen a couple of times too. A week and a half later and no issues yet. However, we have been in the teens at night and hitting mid-30s for the day so winter here is finally coming to an end. So it may be next year before I see any issue again, but finger crossed that the TSB fixed it. Cautiously optimistic here.

Supposedly there is going to be an update on the tsb as there is a new part number (though no part availability) for the actuator replacement as there is a design change to fix this issue. Sorry, no I do not have the new part number. Once I get more info, I will update it here.

Meanwhile it is very hopeful the number of folks that have had the current TSB done correctly and found no more problems.... at least thus far....smile... AZPLAT

No, I'm not posting or sending out that info.
There's no "secrets or tricks" anyways. They simply did the TSB and paid attention to what they were doing.
I dropped off the truck, came back a while later with coffee and a bakers dozen (timmies) for the techs and service writers and they let me roam the dealership pretty much freely after that, as long as I didn't get in anyone's way.
I used to be a mechanic once upon a time, I know how to grease the wheels and how far I can go before I **** a tech off. That I can talk in their terms also helps immensely. Well, that and they change tone usually after they ask to see my ticket (which I carry in my wallet) and see that the issue date older is usually than their birth date. They also usually get pretty interested in talking more when they find out I took a new 70 K truck and started ripping it apart to add adaptive cruise, lane keeping etc...
I watched my tech do a couple of my doors. He opened them, thoroughly dried the mechanisms, installed the rain shields (had to do lock rods on mine also, build date) and greased it IAW the TSB. Then buttoned it up and sent it out. Just what the TSB states. He explained the first one to me as he did it (there was some shooting the sh*t in there too), then I got out of his way so he could work on the rest.
That's not to say there isn't room for a few more improvements, but they did nothing special on my truck other than diligently applying the TSB instructions.
I would also caution saying "the best success story". That's a subjective conclusion based on a negative leaning topic on a web forum.
It's more like one of the few who posts back after it does work.
I know several local guys who have had the TSB work perfectly fine. I know a guy one province over in New Brunswick who hasn't had problems since he had the TSB back in November. On the forum here "Redline" in Montreal has posted no problems since TSB and he had doors not latching. I would suspect there's lots more who have had it work but just drop off the map once they are happy. Or never post on a forum and just have the TSB done at the dealership. A web forum is just too small a sample size to say anything with any certainty. You'd need to know Ford's numbers on TSB's performed and number of comebacks to be able to comment with any confidence on success and failure.
People like to b*tch long and loud when they think they've been wronged, but clam right up once they're been "done right". That's not a slam on anyone, it's just human nature.
To be clear, I'm not trying to remove any importance from those who are still struggling with it or have had comeback after comeback. That sucks. No two ways about it. if it's not done right and it fails, I'd be PO'd about it too.
I'm just posting that the TSB can work. It's not all "gloom and doom", which is typically what you only get on a web forum with this type of topic. I post positive stuff because I had a positive experience and to let those who are struggling with it that giving the TSB a fair chance could end their aggravation if they give it a fair chance and it's done properly.

Haven't had any issues with the doors since. That's through plenty of wide temperature swings, snow, freezing rain, rain, storms etc.,
Of the people I know of who had the TSB done have had no issues since it was applied on 2015/2016 models.

Update the dealer replaced the 2 driver side door latches, passenger side door latches worked fine after the TBS was done on all four doors. This summer will be a good test for the longevity of this repair. Will post a update when freezing weather returns on the performance and of the doors. Have a safe and good summer to all.

I had an issue this year when it was cold, I did hose off the dirt when the weather was warm. The doors would not open with the fob at one point I put the little key inside the fob and turned with pliers . it did open but the door would not stay shut until truck warmed up. Then I would be fine........ The dealer states their is a kit that will repair this but I do not want the digging into the door panels . Any one have this concern........

In the news today, Ford has a recall that addresses latches, but doesn't include the F150??

That was actually a safety issue. Doors were popping open after being latched and not related to freezing IIRC.
