Wow, it wasn't long ago that those were very respectable sports car numbers and we have a full size truck running low 6 to sub-6 (albeit 282') ... nice!!!

Does it really matter how fast these trucks are?

Hell Yes it does. I want a truck that gets up and goes.

Coming from a 5.4 and since Im selling my GTO too to get one yes it does. Not looking for blazing fast, but something that can get out of its own way!

My 5.4 is comparable to a fat kid having an asthma attack when I hit the go pedal.

Yeah, it kinda matters. The numbers are meaningful to indicate potential ability. It's generally considered that the big GM and Dodge engine are quite capable. They are showing the traditional benchmark for the small turbos to measure up against. Looks like the turbos might be winning.

Imagine if nobody ever timed and measured speed for trucks....

To be fair, that was one run, the runs by the same guy were somewhat slower than the fastest times for each truck except maybe the 6.2 (3.5EB was 5.947, Ram was 6.670, Chevy 5.941, 2.7EB 6.012)

The instant torque of the ecoboost gave them the edge in this super-short track. The RAM and Ford V-8s didn't have time to stretch their legs. Nathan was damn surprised by that 2.7tt.
