Sorry...strange to see how that aluminum on the front of the hood wrinkles like a beer can. Did you say the doors open and close fine? Hell, I'll recommend the dealership tries that with mine...not to be insensitive of your situation, she was a beauty

Well pretty much a sad image but this truck held up decent. The truck was borrowed by a customer, and an hour or two later this is what showed up at our dealer. Only thing I heard was he made contact into the back of another vehicle at 20-30 mph. This makes me happier to get mine as the cabin looks 100% sound and all doors still opened fine. I am waiting until july to start the lease on my truck as thats when the lease program should change

Someone wasn't paying attention...
You can see most of the initial damage is to the front right of the truck, including the right front fender damage and shattered headlight. The left fender and headlight don't reflect the same damage. To me this indicates the driver made a last second "Oh chit" left turn. Its clear it wasn't 100% into the back of a flat surface.

Work in insurance and just delt with a 15 f150 that had way worse damage then that and it didn't total. Pretty much everything on the f150 can be sectioned. Even the firewall can be taken out and replaced. The dealer will most likely write a sheet that's just insane to get it off their lot since they won't sell a formerly wrecked truck

To me, it doesn't look like a total but a whole mess of **** could be going on under what I can't see.
It's small things that can add up quickly. One tiny damaged wire going to a crash sensor could mean a $3500 engine harness needs to be replaced.
I think you hit the nail on the head with your post. That truck will total because they want it gone.
