matches some of what my dealer told me...except not to expect any ORDERED trucks until near the first of the year, as almost all of the 2015 first builds will be to build up dealer inventory
but like everything else he didnt know the percentage of customer ordered builds vs dealer orders
but after the first of the year both plants will be going
and one will start up 15 production while the other completes the 14 my builds

The first few weeks will be all dealer orders so they can get any kinks out of the build process before they start on special orders from customers.

did you notice though on the link you provided, it says F150 with the 6.2L gas engine? A mistake, or are they actually bringing that engine back for the new model?

I noticed that too but I'm thinking that's more for the outgoing model.

here's another site that provides the order and build dates, but they don't have any dates listed yet for the new model:

Here's another one that matches the order and start up dates.

It says "Ford F-150 w/ (996) 6.2L gas engine AND/OR options built at Dearborn Truck Plant, footnote 1"

footnote 1

1/ The following F-150 models and/or options are built exclusively at Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP):
  • (996) 6.2L V8 engine
  • (66F) FX Appearance Group
  • (61F) FX Plus Package w/ (XL4) 4:10 axle ratio
  • Limited model
  • (64Z) 22” wheels (standard on Limited)
  • Platinum model
  • (55T) Tremor
I take that to mean all 6.2's were built at Dearborn, but not all trucks built at Dearborn had the 6.2, and that the 2015 trucks built there will have options other than the 6.2. Website also says KC production is estimated to end in September.

How do I get an FX4 with the 4.10?? I like the sounds of FX plus package and 4.10 perfect off road truck.

A friend of mine is a salesman and he said they were told aluminum supply was in shortage and it has pushed production back to December 2014 - Jan 2015.

Anybody got any data to support?
