Estimated curb weights all 2015 bodies and engines
Hi folks, the other morning I went to Ford's 2014 F150 site, reviewed their specifications, calculated the difference between Ford's estimated max of 700 pounds off the heaviest body, and came up with curb weights based on the difference between the current models, and it is as follows:
3.5 normally aspirated (n.a.) standard cab: 3985 lbs.
3.5 Turbo standard cab: 4373 lbs.
5.0 V8 standard cab: 4091 lbs.
____________________________
For Crew Cab 5.5' bed 2wd 3.5 n.a. : 4428 lbs
" " 3.5 Turbo: 4596 lbs
" " 5.0 n.a. : 4554 lbs
____________________________
add 84 lbs to above for 6.5' bed:
Crew Cab 3.5 n.a. : 4513 lbs
" 3.5 Turbo: 4680 lbs
" 5.0 n.a. : 4638 lbs
_____________________________
add 351 lbs to above for 4wd 3.5 Turbo: 5031 lbs
add 371 lbs to above for 4wd 5.0 n.a. : 5009 lbs
_____________________________
Super crew cab to super cab: drop 85 lbs.

This is only an estimate based on Ford's web information, plus there may be my own errors added in, plus, the actual is likely to be different anyway, but it is at least a ballpark figure. My only comment is this is the most exciting development for a mainstream vehicle ever. Go Ford!

So proud of themselves for "saving" 800lbs. All tht did was got the weight back down to where it was 20 years ago.
1995 f150 2wd standard cab had curb weight of 3982lbs with the 4.9L 6 cylinder engine.

The difference is... Those trucks we had back then weren't crew cabs like these. They also weren't rated to tow what these should tow.

Standard cab 3.5 turbo weighs 300 lbs more than the V-8 standard cab? Only an 85 lb drop going to the super cab? 5009 lbs for a supercrew 4x4 with 6.5 bed? Where are you pulling these numbers out of. Another useless thread in the most useless of forum sections.

If you prefer a 1995 model, there are many , many out there for you to purchase. Fords live long, very, very long, frequently attending the funerals of much newer Chevy, Dodge(Ram)and Tundra !
I much prefer the newer models- heavier yes, more capable yes, even more reliable. Not really sure why all the whining- better mileage, handling, braking, comfort, noise attenuation, service intervals. Everything the distant competition would like to be when grown up.

Nihilus, you can go to Fords current F150 (2014 year model) website, go to the SPECS tab at the top of the page, then click "view all", and it shows the curb weight for all the engines and bodies. Yes, the turbo v6 (3.5 liter) weighs more than the v8 in all variations.
Which means the new 2.7 liter turbo, made out of compacted cast iron and only 800cc's smaller than the 3.5 turbo, will likely be about the same weight.
The lightweight (also in power) will be the 3.5 non-turbo, but not by much.

Here is some more detail about what Ford is really doing. According to the WS Journal, Ford is leading the way for all-aluminum common (high volume) vehicles.
Auto makers plan a broad shift to aluminum from steel in larger vehicles over the next decade in North America, and 18% of all vehicles will have all-aluminum bodies by 2025, compared with less than 1% now, according to an industry study released this week.
