Red face 2015 F-150 5.0 V8 Slow Start - turns over 5 to 6 times before starting

I have a 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4WD 5.0 V8 76K miles. The truck starts up fine in the morning. However, at midday (85 degree) and afternoon (95 degrees), the truck turns over 5 to 6 times before starting. Their hasn't been a drop in performance after starting. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

5 or 6 isn't unusual. Midday when the gas has a chance to boil under the hood the light ends evaporate when rail pressure drops off. Do you turn the key to let the fuel pump bring pressure up in the fuel rail? Maybe change out the spark plugs?

I just changed the plugs in my '15 5.0 at 79K miles. It started the same cold or hot before I changed the plugs.

this is a common problem for the 5.0 after sitting for 3-6 or so hours

cold start, no problem
Hot start, no problem
warmish start, extended crank 75% of the time for me

Has anyone in this post found what the issue was. I have a 2016 5.0 and it seems to be doing the same thing. Video attached. Usually a little bit longer than this but my truck only sat for 4 hours 6:30AM to 10:30AM

How do you do that considering the computer starts the truck once the sequence is started?

I’m having the exact same issue all of a sudden. Cold Starts are fine. But, once truck is warmed up, if I do something like run errands to multiple stores, if it’s anything from about 30 minutes to 4 hours from when truck was last turned off, it will take extra time to crank.

Truck is 5 years old, 20k miles, and never had this issue previously. Was hoping it’d go away (was a fluke, weather related, etc), but it hasn’t. I’m still under warranty but haven’t been able to bring it in to dealer yet.

It starts every time, so I’m not overly worried, but it is an annoyance cause it’s not “typical”.

Some research on the forum made it seem like it may be a cam phaser? I’m not sure, but I do know there’s been a couple sporadic times that my push button start hasn’t worked......it’s does a quick split second turn of the engine, but then doesn’t continue.

I always thought that maybe I hit the button too fast or something, but it’s happened maybe 3-5 times in last couple years, so maybe it’s related?

I forgot to say: once mine does start, it does shutter for about 3 seconds almost like it wants to stall due to lack of fuel. Otherwise, like others, no change in performance.
