Keeping it quiet till its official and to keep chevy and dodge guessing. Mustangs didnt come out till last minute either.

I was watching a video from the fast lane truck and one of the people at Ford told them to expect it released sometime mid November from what I can remember.

My guess is the 5.0 and EB numbers wont change too much. Maybe 1mpg better around town.

And the 2.7EB will be 18 city, 25 highway for a 2wd model.

I think the 2.7 will get 26 in 2wd guise. 5.0 id like to see match Chevy 5.3 numbers. 3.5 Ecoboost will probably be 24 on the highway. Least that's what I'm hoping.

My prediction is a 2 MPG increase across the board.

Why would they release the mpg numbers this early when they haven't even build one production model yet and the trucks won't be delivered until November or December? In comparison, the Colorado V6 mpg numbers were not released until 2 weeks prior to shipping and the I-4 mpg numbers 3 days after shipping.

Also, the EPA is involved. If Ford gives out a number and then if it were to change, that would be a fiasco. Look at Mahindra. They advertised 30 mpg for their truck. Then when the actual number came in it was 21 mpg. There is little benefit to giving the mpg numbers now as nobody can take delivery of F-150 for quite awhile and there are still 2014s to sell.

Ford has learned from the CMax Energi mileage fiasco. They have already secretly submitted a mileage to the EPA. It will be declared false next month. They will then submit a 10% lower mileage in December. The EPA will declare that false in January. Ford will then submit a 10% less mileage in February and that will test false by CR and the EPA. Finally in March they will go public with a mileage that is again 10% less. That will stand up until around June when 2015 buyers start posting mileages that are 10% less. By the 2016 model mpg stickers will be accurate.
