2015 cargo light come on by themselves
#11
Yes, my service paperwork says "headlamp switch". But I am going to print this thread and bring with me when I take it in next week. For now I can live without the cargo light......and a dead battery! I've never had an issue with switch in the bed and they never even mentioned that. Although that light works perfectly fine. (??) I'm just baffled at the fact that the lights going on and off was enough to not only melt chrome/plastic, but to also crack the housing. I'm speculating that the heating up, with the -55* wind chills we had possibly caused the crack. I'll replace that after I get the lighting issue resolved. So thank you for your thread. This is the closest I have gotten after searching for nearly five + hours.

No problem. I was having the same issue on finding anything about it so I just asked in here. Guys around here are a great resource, a lot of smart guys. Good luck. Maybe report back after it's all figured out.

I have a 2016 F-150. Had the same issue - solution, replace the switch in the box. The switch part number is SW7733 and comes with the trim plate- bought from the dealer. Cost was $30 can. If you run the part number on the switch it tells you it is for a power tailgate and the cost is $57 at the dealer and doesn’t come with a trim plate. Here is the kicker- the SW7733 is the exact same switch and has the same part number. Don’t get screwed- buy the SW7733 part and change it in 5 minutes.

Had to change the bed switch in my truck about a year ago. They are not very well made. Its a tiny microswitch inside all that plastic.
