2015 Anzo Headlights

I will also openly admit that I'm testing a setup not likely approved by the main sponsor noted in this thread. I mounted the ballast and CANbus adapter in the high beam side of the Anzo housing. I then blocked off as much as I could between the low and high beam side. There is plently of room and the Anzo wiring is easily manipulated to accommodate. No ballast relocation kit, cutting holes or using sealant. I've also changed my DRL's from the low beam to the fog lights only via Forscan (have the Morimoto LED here, not overly impressed but it does provide some output). My HID retrofitted fog lights on last truck has everything over these.
Had them in now for awhile, will see on durability. If I burn a bulb will not seek warranty; I'm guessing will likely conceded and retrofit some HID's in either the Anzo or other if it happens. In the high beam side, just have a halogen bulb, which I rarely use, maybe 1/month for short duration. I have other lighting planned to supplement for open road lighting.

so for driving out in the country you think the LEDs throw less light than stock? when you say extra lights is that just the high beams?
I want to buy some anzo's strictly for the LED outline.
Can you use the stock halogen bulbs in the Anzo housing?
Thinking of getting anzos and LED bulb for low beams and keeping the stock halogen bulb for high beams if that will throw more light.
Please let me know if that would work or if that is a good strategy
thanks

I'll be honest, the stock halogens are not that bad. What I've seen are poorly aimed headlights from the factory. Mine were too high, I was getting flashed on way home from dealer.
Regular halogens in the Anzo are IMO worse than the stock halogen housings. You need to upgrade to the brightest LED bulb available or use HID. The main reason people get the Anzo's are for the LED outer rings, especially the switchbacks. It is not because of a better light output.
I went with 4x4truckleds XHP70 in the low beam of my Anzo. I went from stock halogen, Anzo Halogen, Morimoto LED and finally to the XHP70. Honestly, the stock halogens when aimed appropriately are better for distance and side viewing than the LED's I'm currently using. But I got the Anzo's for the switchback outer LED rings.
In my previous truck, I retrofitted HID projector set, Morimoto M1's. The light output from that to my latest is not even close. Distance, side, brightness, just about everything from a lighting aspect. I miss it, but a 16yr old kid decided it's early fate. What I do like about the LED's in the Anzo vs stock Halogen - it does have better foreground lighting during inclimate weather. But what this does is also hurt your long distance viewing . So for city driving, I love it, out in the country I turn on additional lighting.
What I like about the LED 's in Anzo's vs. my retrofitted M1's: instantaneous ON (no bulb warm up), no wiring to the battery and for my own eyes, it did not do well with the super crisp cut-off line. I had problems reading signs at night. Never had a problem with longevity with HID's, 5 years with the retrofit and not one problem. I did turn on my headlights manually after the engine started.
I haven't gone a full year yet to decide if I will retrofit HID's into any housing. So far I'm enjoying the LED's in my Anzo's, mainly because the color and outer LED rings show some awesomeness.

You cannot use the same bulbs from your stock housing, in the Anzos. They use different bulb sizes.
Anzos + XHP70s for low and XHP50 for high are the most popular combinations we sell. Once in a blue moon we get a die hard HID fan who orders the Morimoto H7 Elite for lows but it's rare these days. Folks prefer the instant on/off of the LEDs and the light output is about the same.
I've had some customers use their stock halogens for high but to be honest... i'm not sure if it actually does anything. I RARELY use my own high beams where I'm from (Long Island) although I did turn them on tonight because I wanted to see the extra brightness

Ford Guy
Just placed my order for the Anzo switchbacks with 4x4TruckLeds.com yesterday. Can't wait for them to show up. Now I just need to decide on LED vs. HID for the lows and highs.
Thanks for catering to the F150 community.

So your low beam driver/ballast is in the high beam cavity with some blocking? Let me know if you ever run into issues (we'll still RMA it if its our product). As that's a good idea to avoid making a hole in the cap. We DO NOT recommend this (yet) of course lol.But if you think about it the fan will pull the ambient air (the LED is what gets hot) and since the ballast/driver is generating heat in a DIFFERENT cavity it may work ... interesting concept.

I'm pretty sure state laws only allow 4 white lights forward of the vehicle at any given time (this is why your fog lights turn off when your high beams are on a 2015+ vehicle). 3 white LED grill + 2 headlights = 5 lights. Probably not something anybody would get pulled over for, but technically illegal
