I put a magnaflow on mine. Love it. Not too loud. Can talk on phone, listen to music, but still can hear it.

Same boat. Had many many cat-back and full exhausts over the years. This one I just took to a trusted local shop, and had a Magnaflow welded in place of the stock muffler. $140 out the door, much better sound. Would a Corsa Cat back sound better? Probably, but not $1000 better.

So I take it that the OEM piping is 3 inches and needs a center/offset muffler?

After a lot of trial and error I agree that the way to go is just a muffler swap. I spent $600 on a cat back and install for my 2015 5.0 only to lose the lower end torque (the range that I do all my driving) due to changes in back pressure. Just had the stock resonator welded in at a local muffler shop for $45 and am very happy to get the power I lost back, however it really tamed the sound of my Gibson cat back. For future trucks, I will just spare myself the expense and either stick with the stock system or just swap out the muffler for the sound improvement.
