2015 3.5 EB spark plug gap and possible spark blowout/hesitation questions
I'm having some rough idle issues and some hesitation when either towing or going up an incline in 2nd gear. Almost feels like spark blowout. Is this a pretty common issue on the 2015's? Also looking to gap the factory plugs as I've heard they tend to be all over the place. Buddy has a '14 and he says to run .030 gap. What's recommended?
Thanks in advance |
I had a 2011 EB truck ran great but at 30000 I changed plugs just as routine maintenance the original plugs were all over the place [.028 to .038] gaped new plugs all at .030 truck seemed to pull better on grades. Just bought a 15 2.7 plan to check plugs soon.

When tow with 3.5 Eco and the 2.7 Eco. The owners manual recommends that you run premium fuel when towing.

It recommends for better performance, premium fuel. Also it does this unloaded on an incline.

+1 to the above posts. Had an '11 3.5 with the misfire issues. Gaps were all over the place. One was even .050. Replaced with all .030 gapped new plugs and never happened again.

I will refresh this topic :)
Original spark plugs SP 534 are not available in my country. I wonder if i can use spark plugs used in Fusion/Mondeo 2.0 eb? Difference is only in symbols at the end. Left sp is from Fusion and right is actualy used in my F150 (S12Y2 vs S12YT3) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...ed0605d5b3.jpg |
