Everything you need and probably more than you want to know should be in these two playlists
if you can't watch them right on this website, just hit the YouTube link there and it'll take you right to it. I have everything except for the cable replacement in those two playlists

Replaced some lower guides/cables.

Put it up yesterday.

I did this in a broken track I had saved for this occasion, so obviously it was not in the truck.
After doing it, I think this repair might be possible to do in the truck, without removing the track.

I am going to make another one to show how, but as I don't have one currently in a truck, it'll still be done out...but I think it can be done. Almost sure of it, actually. Easier with it out, but if you want to save that big step, I'm going to show how. Anyway, this one is how you put the cables in. It was relatively easy, FAR easier than replacing these same (similar but different) parts in the 2014-older tracks.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge Pacfanweb. I had the "honor" of having to replace my entire track, and let the visor un-roll on me. Do you know how many turns it needs to be for proper spring tension?

Ouch.

No, sorry. If that happened to me I'd just "eyeball it" by feel. I've had one slip a few turns before caught it and that's what I did. Seemed to work okay.

Pacfanweb, thank you for taking the time to post info and videos. I just found out my sunroof on my 2016 will not retract, loud pop and it is stuck. It will vent so I ordered a set of rails off your website and will tackle taking it apart when they get here. Hopefully the entire track won't need replaced.

Hello. I watched your video on replacing the guides and cables. You mention here that it could probably be done while the track is still in the truck.

I saw that you had to slide that plastic piece really far forward, way beyond the track. Would that be possible from outside the truck? It would seem that it would bump into the roof/body of the truck.

Anyone know what the part circled in the picture is called and if you can purchase it separately?

Default Thank you

I just used this excellent write up to change my sunroof rails. First one gave me a rough time but second one was less than 5 minutes.

Really, I can’t thank you enough as the dealer wanted an arm and a leg and the weather is perfect now where I am for an open sunroof!

Looking to replace my rails this week on my 2015 F150.
When I look up FL3Z-1651070-E most sites say it does not fit my truck.

Is this correct?

I know this is an older thread, but I recently had the sunroof issue. I ordered the new lift arms from Sunroof doctor. When my son in law and I removed the sunroof,
we discovered the lift arms were fine, but the driver side cable piece that attaches to the lift arm was broken. I’ve watched the video about replacing the cables without removing the whole sunroof, but don’t understand what the pointed end attaches to. Do you just slide the new cable into the guide, and then run the initialization and it “catches”? Am I missing a step?
