Default 2015-2017 F150 Door Handle Recall

Has anyone had this recall service done on the door handles? I got a letter in the mail about 4-5 MONTHS ago saying the local Ford dealership would contact me for a service date but so far i've not heard a peep??

They told me about mine when I got an oil change. They scheduled me a loner and had mine for 2days to do the recall.

I wouldn't wait for them to contact you again. I had the recall on the door latch. Contacted my dealership when i receive the letter. Service manager told me they will contact me as soon as the parts becomes available. Almost 3 months later I was still waiting for them to contact me. I finally just went to the dealership and drop it off. Took them one day to do the work.

I would wait a bit longer. I haven't heard any updates lately, but the band aid solution that Ford came up with isn't working. Last I heard the were testing a revised latch. You really don't want them pulling apart door panels more than necessary..

Agreed. The idiots went and replaced my latches on my 2015 that I never had a problem with, WITHOUT getting my permission or informing me they were doing it, and now there is a cracking/rattle sound in the doors after the truck sits in direct sunlight. Of course there is no way they'd ever be able to sort that out so now I'm stuck with defective doors after having problem free doors.

Dealerships have the most incompetent people I swear.

Good points here. I will just hang out longer until they figure out a better solution. So far I've had no issues with this (knock on wood).

If you don't have issues I wouldn't bother getting it done ever. There is nothing wrong with the latches themselves in terms of safety. They only had a tendency to freeze in cold weather if moisture gets in from washing the vehicle or its extremely cold out.

Had mine done when I couldn't get in or out of my truck on several different occasions. No issues since. When I brought it in and told them the issue, they joked that that is what windows are for. I'm sorry but if I have to enter and exit through the windows on a 70k truck we have bigger issues.

The dealer did on mine and no door latch problem before and after.
They also replaced the rear bumper as it was hit by an explorer in the lot. I scratched the paint of the rear bumper long time ago and now I have a brand new one and free.
Plus they let me had a loaner car. A 6-day driving experience on a 2018 Mustang in black was cool.

I had a Toyota dealership cut 2.5" off our RAV4's accelerator pedal for the "sudden acceleration" recall without getting prior approval to do the work. I refused to accept delivery of the vehicle from the service department until a new accelerator assembly (pedal with mount and sensor) was ordered and the appointment was scheduled to replace the butchery they created. And as you can tell by my signature, that was almost the last straw in Toyota ownership and it was the last time I ever used that dealer's service department.

Even more amusing was trying to drive that SUV for 3 days with only half a gas pedal. My wife was a trooper on that ordeal.
