The part is on national backorder, but as most know, I dont drive more than 4K annually in my truck so when it gets here ill take it back for the repair. I was worried but all is well. Thank again for the concern bro, appreciate it.
Awesome! Glad it turned out to be nothing major!

Yeah, me too! Bad feeling in your stomach because these techs, they really dont care about personal property. (not all) I just prefer not to have to go in a dealership service center BUT with an oil leak, I just didnt want to proceed changing the oil and find out it was major AND then be insulted for it by being blamed for causing it somehow.

Keep me posted on this , I have the same issue with my 2016 F150 crew cab 3.5 ecoboost 4x4

Thanks

I received my letter yesterday. Does anyone know what parameters they are actually changing? It says the check engine light may not come on when it should, then after the reflash it may come on and need repairs.

I have the same exact issue, 150 miles on a 2 day old truck... 3.5L Eco with the 10 speed.
I just posted about this, then saw you and other owners mentioning this same issue..
Hope in the end this isn't considered by Ford to be a "normal operating characteristic"..

My 2010 with 114,000 miles didn't do it, and my 2011 F150 didn't do it.
Sounds like crap and can only imagine it's not good for longevity..

the following suddenly happened when I parked and turned off my truck. just turned 14k miles (July 2016 Build, 5.0 Scab, 301a, 4wd, 3.73)

-Radio buttons do not function (radio stuck powered on)
-steering wheel buttons do not function
-headsup display including ALL gauges no power
-gear indicator stuck on Park
-climate control buttons do not function
-turn signals do not function
-drivers and passenger window buttons & door lock buttons do not function (one window is stuck halfway down)

truck starts & goes into gear ok, the headlights and brakelights function and the rear windows function

spoke with service tech on phone, he said need to bring it in and gave no recommendation. friend told me to unhook neg battery terminal for 10 minutes, reset computer

update: removed neg battery terminal overnight , hooked back up this morning everything seems to be working again, except yellow check engine indicator is on.

update: yellow check engine indicator is off after driving around the block. all systems go. contemplating if should still visit the dealer....nah lol
