Default 2015 150 screw cab smell

I have a 2015 screw & when its rains or is damp there is an awefull smell in the cab. It smells like cat pee & especially in the back seat. I have recently changed the cabin filter but that has not helped. I cannot find any obvious cause (dampness or leaks).

Any ideas or help on where/what to look for would be appreciated,

Tony

LMAO right now because I have the same exact smell in my 15 Screw and didnt want to ask this question. I do have cats in my house and was thinking maybe one of them use my shoes one day but thats not it. I was thinking about the cabin air filter myself, have not changed it and I am at 33k miles.

Where there's smoke...same smell in my Edge..kept thinking vents were clogged or something.

pulled up passenger mat and floor was soaked. Tech ripped out all carpet and it was molding. Needless to say the edge went back to dealer (3 months old) and I'm back in an f150!

My wife tells me my 2015 150 SCREW smells like old garbage and I cant find the source or the smell. The truck is clean, always is - just commute to/from the office.

Where do I find these cab vents?

Get a can of Lysol spray. Start truck and turn on the heater with fan at highest level. Be sure air setting is on outside air. On the outside of the truck near and around your wiper arms spray the Lysol into the area where the outside air is being pulled into your heating system.

This will just mask the problem for a little while. If the smell is due to moisture or a leak...it needs to be found and fixed. It took me doing my stereo, to fully rip out the entire carpet in a 2010 screw to acutally come across the 3rd brake light leak, prior to it becoming so bad that it would soak the headliner. I caught it while it was just lightly dripping into the area under the rear seats that hold the jack.

do 2015 have a 3rd brake light issue?

Rain water/car wash water falls down these same intake areas. If the drains have debris and are slow draining mold can be a source of odor. So when it rains and your looking for leaks the water is falling right in front of the windshield.
