Tapping feeling on the steering wheel
Hey guys.
Just picked up a 2015 XLT sport supercab, 6.5 box with the 2.7 L eco in it. It was a demo model with 7300 kms on it. When I took it out for a test drive around the dealership going over small bumps I could feel a tapping feeling in the steering wheel. Didn't think too much of it. But now that I own it and still feel it. It has become a slight concern.
Took it to the dealership to check out and they said of course, couldn't replicate it and they check out the steering column, suspension etc. Everything looks normal they said.
Does anyone else notice this? Is it just a normal thing? They check for any recalls and there was nothing.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

I wouldn't say tapping but at hwy speeds the steering wheel has a slight vibration to it

Is it possible that you have the "Lane Keeping System" turned on? When activated there is a slight vibration in the steering wheel when the vehicle detects you crossing a line. See page 221 of owner's manual

check for a vacuum hose or breather hose laying on top of the steering u-joints on the steering shaft. When I picked mine up from the dealer it had a hose installed wrong that was rubbing or laying on top of the shaft. It is supposed to go under the shaft. May be flopping around just enough whacking the shaft. Just a guess. I know there was a early steering recall for something on the early build trucks. Mine is XLT.
