Default 2 Issues - MFT Cooled Seats & Dimming Status Window

Hey all,

1. 900 miles in and I noticed two things now that I don't rem before. The reason I brought this up I was watching a F-150 dealer review and saw on their MFT on the climate control window more buttons than mine. They had buttons for heating/cooling seats, mine does not, just a huge "My Temp" button and "Dual". Why are ours different?

Also on the main square MFT the bottom right climate control only shows heated steering wheel, that's all!

2. Every time I turn on the turn the truck the Dimmer bar window comes on in the cluster display showing me max bars. Can I disable this I don't rem it doing this before.

Mine was built pre-April.

I believe in mid March, the buttons on MFT for the heated and cooled seats were taken away, leaving just the physical buttons in center stack. and My dimmer thing shows also. I believe it is normal.

My dimmer shows in the drivers display at startup when in darker areas, like the under ground parking beneath our condo, then disappears. I believe it's normal, can't find where it could be disabled.
MFT on my truck duplicates the tactile controls, as it was built 01/13/2015. According to another thread it was said that Ford did a software update in later models, doing away with the MFT controls, except for the heated steering wheel icon.

My truck was a March build, also does not have the heated/cooled buttons in the MFT screen.

My dimmer shows everytime I start the truck.

This.

I just fear that if I choose to 'update' my MFT, I'll lose my on-screen seat heater controls. Granted, the 'real' buttons below the screen are infinitely easier to use without having to change screens from Nav or 'Infotainment' screens.

But I *do* have them (my truck was also built week of 1/13 VIN xxx31999), and don't want to lose any features, especially to an 'update.'

I would think your fear would be justified. If you did an update those controls may very well be deleted from the MFT screen. But not 100% sure.

Thanks for all of the info. I'll try to notice the DIM popup on a bright sunny day.

The pop up is part of the auto dim feature on MFT. Pg. 441 in the owners manual. If you touch the panel dim controls on the light switch you should see the pop up. It offsets the normal brightness to your liking, brighter or dimmer.

Display

You can adjust the touchscreen display
through the touchscreen or by pressing the
voice button on your steering wheel
controls and when prompted, say, "Display
settings".

Press the Settings icon >

Display, to access and make
adjustments using the
touchscreen.

Brightness allows you to make the
screen display brighter or dimmer.

Auto DIM, when set to On, lets you use
the Auto Dim Manual Offset feature.

When set to Off, screen brightness
does not change.

Mode allows you to set the screen to
a certain brightness or have the system
automatically change based on the
outside light level, or turn the display
off.

If you select AUTO or NIGHT, you
have the options of turning the
display's Auto Dim feature on or off
and changing the Auto Dim Manual
Offset feature.

Auto Dim Manual Offset allows you
to adjust screen dimming as the
outside lighting conditions change from
day to night. This feature also allows
you to adjust screen brightness using
the instrument panel dimming control
