My really world is now 18.4 to 21.3 mix driving. The truck has about 5k. I live rural Georgia, about an hour south a Atlanta. I encounter long stretches of two lane blacktop quite a bit.

Yeah I bought mine's for mpg, the benz suv never gave me more than 12 mpg. It was a total bugger when it came to gas. Oh did I mention that it only sipped premium.

Lifetime average mpg over 7000mi is 19.5 according to Fuelly. Worst tank was 17.8, which included about 40 miles of towing an enclosed trailer up and down hills. Best tank was 21.3 with about 75% highway driving. I live in Pa and there are lots of hills around here.
All in all, it's a relatively efficient truck where fuel is concerned.

2.7 real! Mpg
To paint a picture first, I travel a lot to different mountain resorts here in the North East loaded with gear, but with nothing in tow. My commute to work is an easy, relatively flat 15 min drive to work. Next, I have 12K miles & 1 oil change already on my '16 F150 4x4 2.7 EB SCab (Not full 4 doors) 6.5' bed with tow pkg and 36 gallon extended range fuel tank. The truck has the Paregon truck bed cover closed 95% of the time and I removed the back seats to load my Mtn bikes and other stuff (Being KID & PET FREE! ) I also have a 2.5" RC leveling kit up front with stock wheels and tires set at the factory PSI. Everything else is pretty much stock except for the bug shield on the hood and rain guards on the windows. Oh and a K&N air filter! (Not for performance, but for long term maintenance cost savings)
That said, I average 21.5 mpg city and 23.5-25 mpg on the highway depending on the direction with elevation on my travels. If I romp it occasionally, it'll drop by about .5-1 mpg but that's about it. Of course, I don't drive like a maniac and usually do the flow of traffic on the hwy around 75mph. On the highway, I've seen as high as 26mpg when below 70mph in 6th gear.
I must note that up to 5K miles from 0 when purchased new, I only got 19.5 mpg city and 21-22 hwy. I still had the rear seats in there at that time though, so not sure if that had anything to do with the increase or just the engine break-in helping out.
Hope that helps.

I'm brand new to the F150 and to this forum
I'm relatively new to pickups in general until I bought a new 2010 Tacoma 4 cyl (2.7) 4x4 mainly to have something to drive in the snow and ice. and to pull a small utility trailer I converted to an RV. My Porsche 987 with almost no ground clearance wouldn't get me to the arterial in winter.
Finally decided I was tired of the lack of power and poor gas mileage for a 4 cyl 2.7 engine. So just 2 days ago I bought the F150 2.7 ecoboost 4x4. Twice the HP and Torque and better fuel mileage. I barely have 100 miles on it. It's fun to watch the computer claim I'm getting 28 mpg when I'm driving for high mpg at 50 mph. I liked the Tacoma's handling, but am delighted driving this new truck; feels like luxury, Hauling the trailer I got between 13 and 15 mph with the Tacoma. I'm eager to see what I get in 'real world' mileage pulling the trailer with the 150.

I have just under 300 miles on the truck and I'm averaging 22.3 mpg. I'm hoping after engine is settled in I get to 24. I'm super impressed with the truck and the engine so far and I can't believe what Ford has done. If this continues for the next 12 months I'll be looking at replacing the wife's Venza with another F-150.
