2.7l Real World MPG Post

I only have 1700 miles on my 2.7l so not fully broken in. I went out of town this past weekend 350 miles 175 in each direction. I averaged 22 on the way there and 21 on the way back highway driving 99% of the time.

City driving I have been getting 17-18 on an unbroken in motor and that is heavy stop and go traffic. I feel city MPG's are getting better now that its starting to break in.

Post 2.7l real world MPG's.

Edit: I have 3.55 gears

Have you been letting the car turn off when in traffic?

Yes, I have only disabled it a few times. I am also in Texas and when it is over 90-95 degrees the auto start stop is disable by the computer and its pretty much always over 90-95. The auto start stop does turn off more in the morning before it heats up. I'm guessing to keep the cab cool the engine has to keep the AC pumping.

I have only run 1 full tank of gas on mine so far but got about 17mpg in mostly city driving. Lights, short trips, etc. almost thru the second tank now which will be 70% highway. It looks to be much better as you would expect.
I have been using the auto start/stop most of the time. Only disabled it a couple times when it was really annoying me. :censored:
I'm hoping the city mileage improves a bit as more miles go on since it is my daily driver in city traffic 90% of the time. Regardless I am happy with the truck.

2.7 mpg

Hi I'm back after a stint in a Tacoma [good truck but mpg absolutely sucks.] Just took delivery on 2015 SC 2.7 2x4 and with just 150miles on it took a 90 mile trip to Gilla Bend AZ On back roads 50mph mostly flat And recorded an outstanding 28.2 mpg average for the trip according to dash read out. If this kind of performance and economy holds true after break in I'm sold. I was impressed with my previous 2011 3.5 but this to me is amazing especially compared to the Toyota.:)

18.0 hand calculated - not going by the dash computer. Almost 4k miles in the month that I have had it.

Exactly the same usage as my '12 5.0 3.73 that averaged 15.3

Nice! I just traded in my 2012 Tacoma 4 door lifted I was getting mix 15 MPG. I am hesitant to make any changes in fear of getting 15 again or worse.

Real world with mine, using calculator not the on board computer, I'm getting 18mpg city. I do 90% city driving. The only highway travel I did was a 400 mile round trip, I averaged just over 23mpg. That's with 36 gallon tank 4x4 3.73

People also post real world MPG here, so disregard the unflattering comments from people who don't even drive the truck. fuelly.com is great for tracking, but posting your numbers here and reviewing this thread will give you a chance to see what forum members are getting and will also give you the opportunity to compare against 4x4, RWD, 3.31/3.55/3.73

Here is the original thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2-7-m...rmance-284018/

By the way, I'm getting 20.8 lifetime so far after 2600 miles. It's lifted with 34" tires. I was getting 19 pretty consistently in the 08' Tacoma I traded in.
