Not very impressed. I average 18mpg all the time in my 09 scab 4x4 with the 4.6l. If I drive highway like a grandma I can get 20-21 no problem. Have hit 22 on road trips. A smaller engine with more power and less weight should do better than that.

I read the article and they're claiming 18 mpg mixed not 23.5? What am I missing. 23.5 was their attempt to squeeze every drop in grandpa mode.

This is what Truck Trend observed for fuel economy from the 2.7L EB -

We drove the truck at what we’d consider a “normal” pace of highway driving of between 60-75 mph, punctuated occasionally by passing. After about an hour and a half of driving, we got an indicated and measured 16.7 mpg

I hit 21.8 doing 70 MPH in my 2011 S-crew ecoboost today driving from Orlando to Tampa and back to Orlando 160 miles round trip.

My SCrew 6.5ft 4x4 5.4L can do 21 if I wanna set the cruise on 60 for long distances. But here in Texas with a 75mph speed limit people aren't gonna be happy with you.
