2.7 l oil change
Anyone done one yet? I started to take a look today to do one, but I'm at a loss. I'm either completely missing where the filter /drain plug is, ir things are getting trickier.
Some quick searching on Google, I found some text referring to the drain plug as being able to be turned by hand, but no reference to location of anything.
Anyone have any insight?

So... I did it today... Just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, I sprung for the 3 days access to the service manual - if there's anything anyone needs to know, I have 2 days left where I have access.. let me know...
As far as Oil Changes are concerned:
Need a few tools, but not many
Ratchet(s)
8mm socket (removing rear engine protector)
27mm socket (removing oil filter)
Funnel
O-ring remover (angled pick, whatever you want to use)
Torque Wrench (18 Ft-lbs)
I'm gonna throw lots of pictures here... because... well.. it's quicker to do pictures than make an oil change video...
FL-2062 - I haven't seen other brands besides Motocraft yet.... looks like an 'all new' filter for the motor. It comes with 4 large and 1 small o-ring. You need to use 2 large, and 1 small o-ring. I forgot to take a picture of where the o-rings go, but they're all on the filter housing.
Oil filter cartridge lives here on top of the motor.
Instructions say to loosen filter housing to allow oil to drain out of the filter first... so, loosen - 27mm socket.
Getting the the drain plug - you need to drop the 'engine protector' thing that's where a skid plate would be if you have them... It's attached with 8mm bolts. You can probably get away with only removing the front two, but I removed the entire piece for fear of the oil 'shooting' out and soaking it. I think it would have if I didn't remove it.
Now you can see the drain 'bolt'. Doesn't take more than one hand to get it out. The oil came shooting out when I removed it. Make sure the catch pan you're using can drain fast enough (if it's a sealed style can), I almost had an overflow.
Oil was pooled in the cartridge housing, I didn't like this for a first oil change - probably not a big deal, but I cleaned it out.
And. that's it. Easy as any other oil change. Ford spec's the cartridge housing at 18 ft-lbs.
Figured this might help someone else. Enjoy

R6, I haven't seen a YouTube video for an oil & filter change on the 2015 F-150 EcoBoost motor, but this one will give you an idea of what you should be looking for under your new truck.

Be careful when checking the level On the 2.7. There is a TSB out for it. It holds almost all of its oil up in the engine for a long time after shutting down. You should always wait a bit before checking the oil on all engines, but Ford is saying at least 15-20 minutes on the 2.7 EB, or you risk over filling if you're going by the level on the dip stick.

In to see where drain plug is. I saw the vid on the filter and time to check level and great info. Funny they didn't go into location a bit more.
Someone please do some oil analysis on these. Hoping someone will have a boroscope to check intake valves as well at some point.
