Install a Pedal Commander. They make one for the 2.7,3.5, and 5.0. Turn off traction control, lock rear, select 4h and go! Should bring a smile to your face no matter what motor you have!

To me, my 2016 XLT SCREW 4x4 2.7 accelerated faster than my 2018 Limited. However, on hwy passing, the 2.7 was kinda of weak. The 3.5 has more top end. Sometimes you get that Toyota or Kia doing 60 on a 75 posted Texas hwy and when you need to pass that sucker without interfering with other "normal" 75 mph drivers, passing power is pretty damn important.

On the trucks above:
Acceleration: 2.7
Top end (speed): 3.5
Towing: it's pretty rare I tow anything over 3000 lbs so both were sufficient
Mileage: the 2.7 got 1 mpg better than my current 3.5
