Think you may have hit the nail on the head. The eco-boost trucks are deceiving in the way they accelerate. It is just a steady push of acceleration, rather than the increasing sense of acceleration you get from a naturally aspired engine building power. I feels very different, not nearly as hectic.... it took me a while to get used to it.

I've had my truck since new, and never knew about the AdvanceTrac Sport mode. Learn something new every day.

So true!! Went from a 2.7 to a 3.5HO, it could just be the larger tires on my new truck, but it felt like the 2.7 was way quicker off the line and when stomping the go pedal to pass folks.

I hope I came here earlier asking this question before I bought it.

I also found the brake is not very good compared to my SUV. Is it normal? What do you think?

Thanks
The 2.7 is built stronger than the 3.5. You made the right choice. I got a 2.7 myself.

I believe the 300hp MDX was around 7 seconds as well.

(Pass note, the 2.7 is also asked to produce more hp an torque per liter, so the increased strength is not necessarily going to result in a longer service life.)

Are you running 87 octane or 93? I had the same reaction when i purchased my truck and they filled the tank with 87. I use 93 about 90% of the time and I am very happy with the acceleration. I had a 2015 with the 3.5eb and this time I thought the 2.7 was more than enough for me.. The only difference I really see (other than towing) is above 70mph...I can tell a bit of difference there....

I smell a troll or two here... not sure what their motive is though.

Unless asked to constantly make that hp per liter, then the 2.7 comes out ahead. Mine seldom needs much throttle in daily use...I suspect a huge percentage of 2.7's are the same.
