Adding rotational mass was the worst decision I've made in a while.

29.2 mpg achieved over 700 miles per screen, actual per fuelly was 27.4mpg

Last I ran the numbers over the truck life provided the following again per fuelly:
Non-towing - 23.9mpg
Summer (May - Oct) = 25.2mpg
Winter (Nov - Apr) = 22.8mpg

You said in your initial post you had a stock truck? Tires are the biggest influence on your mpg, (except your right foot of course). On my 2013 3.5L EB I would get 22-24mpg hwy, after tires and wheels it dropped to 17mpg and it felt like I lost 50hp.
Adding rotational mass was the worst decision I've made in a while.

I have a 2017 4x4 supercrew lariat with the 3.55 rear, all stock everything.
Driving to and from Portland and Seattle, (pretty hilly), with the cruise set at 75mph I got a hair over 21mpg which is pretty damn good for that speed. If I keep it below 70mph I can get about 24mpg.
Did the exact same drive with my old truck but slower - 2017 Tacoma V6 at 70mph - and I got 17mpg. Tacoma's are so overrated..

I just got back from a 2200 mile road trip in a 2017 XL with 4x4 and the 2.7. I was averaging around 23.5 MPG at 65 MPH. When I went up to 70 MPH it dropped to about 21 MPG. When I hit the area of west Texas where the speed limit is 80 mph that made it drop down to like 17 MPG.
