Default 2.7 4x4 tow a 4000lb car?

I'm wondering if someone could help answer a question for me..

I'm trying to get a 3800lb up north to my family's place for repairs. I'd be renting a small car trailer from uhaul.

I don't have the truck or manual with me, but it is a standard 2016 XL 4X4 with the 2.7 and 3.55 gears with 35" Ridge Grapplers. I have the standard factory hitch.

Can anyone tell me if I'd be safe towing that much weight for 3.5 hrs at highway speeds (65-70mph)?

Thanks!

Easy breezy on the weight.

I'll let others advise you on the finer points of towing though, because I never have done any towing.

Your truck won't have any issue. You will need a trailer brake controller though.

U-Haul trailers (especially the car hauler) generally have surge brakes, so you don't need a brake controller.

4000lb car plus how much for the weight of a sufficient trailer? 2000lbs?

pretty close to the max capability of the 2.7 at what, 7500lbs or so?

but sure, shouldn't be a problem, correctly set up!
