All the more reason to keep what's left in his pocket, not?
I've never paid this silly ripoff, garbage, B.S. way of extracting more money from customers fee and would much rather walk out the door if they insist on it. But as i said, I never paid it and have no intention on ever paying it. I wont even waste my time discussing it with the salesman, other than a NOT PAYING IT.

Know its been beaten to death, but I have analysis paralysis from all the research, and differing views.
I am simply asking how much further, if any, I should try to get.
Been dealing with many dealers in the St Louis MO, for a week or so. Prepared to keep working, but just want current opinions.
I am NOT eligible for Prior .Mil/LEO discount. Not eligible for Loyalty rebate.
I HAVE pointed out to the dealers the $2k Aged inventory and it is applied. Here is where I am-
2017 F150 XLT 4X4 Super Crew. 5.5 foot box. 3.5EB/10 Speed. Oxford white/Med Gray cloth.
302A
XLT Chrome appearance pkg
3.31, rear locker
Backup assist
Tow pkg (not max tow)
20" chrome like (lol) wheels (wish they were 18's)
36 gal tank
Trl brake controller
Cloth 40/console/40
Thats it. 51,290 Total MSRP (in the blue box)
After working about a week, this particular dealer, just barely, has the lowest price offered to me yet.
38,000 plus the 199 doc fee- 38,199
I am NOT paying the doc fee. So it'll be 38K OTD.
What are your thoughts on this. How much room is left?
My thoughts are they could sell it profitably at 35k, but dont have to. That said, I am a cynical bastard, so maybe I am off.
Thanks

Remember that you are buying a vehicle that you will own for at least 5 years. It's a big purchase. 1-2 hours of headaches is worth it. If you trade it, that 1k-2k-3k $ extra you'll have removed will be 1k-2k-3k $ less on your next loan.

They could have charged a 7,000 dollar doc fee to me, as long as when I factored it back in and my dealer discount put me at my target price and then rebates off that I wouldn't care what they called it.

I can't find the proof but I'm pretty sure that a dealer provided warranty is the same as an original warranty in that you only have to show proof that all maintenance was done. They can't require that they do all the required maintenance. I'll keep Googling till I find something to back this up.

Worst hairday ever...
A dealer warranty is something provided by the dealer and can be whatever terms and conditions they want. I would get those terms and conditions on paper before buying.
I would avoid dealer extended warranties simply because if you move away or the dealer closes, your extended warranty is gone.

So I guess it depends. Obviously in my opinion if you are buying it, make sure you get a Ford esp and not a 3rd party a dealer sells.

You paid it my friend, even if it came from dealer profit that they did not discount to you. It cost money to file papers at the local courthouse!

I'm not sure of the total cost here to do the title and registration but to buy a new vehicle and transfer the plates the dealer did all that sitting at his computer. I was surprised when my new Tennessee registration came in the paperwork from the dealer out the door. I don't remember how it worked the last time I traded in 2004. I know that when I've bought new without trading I got my new plate in the mail but that was a long time ago. I've also had to have temp tags and go to the courthouse in person with the bill of sale. Also, I'm out of county to my dealer.

Agreed, if you're paying for an extended warranty go for Ford ESP, or reputable aftermarket if you can find one. IMO.
