I completely understand it posses me off also but in their defense of their all doing it their at the mercy of the designers and engineers. I work at ford at the super duty plant and am still asking around for an answer. If everyone will call the 800 number we will get something done eventually theor is power in numbers. Sadly I'm stuck with it but I guarantee the next truck I ever buy I will test drive it under every condition possible. Being this is my 2nd for in 2 years I've lost faith btw my 16 f150 ran great but back up sensors went off all the dam time and never successfully got the doors to keep from freezing in winter which is why I traded it in.

I’ve had my case number for over a week now. Ford called my dealer to get with me about further diagnostics but they won’t return my calls, so that is on them. Now I get to complain to Ford about one of their dealers, on top of the product they sold me.

I spoke with the service manager at my dealer yesterday. According to him, Ford is well aware of the whistle and they have determined that it is not causing any harm. He/they think it is something with the intake...perhaps the plastic manifold. So if that's true, and it's NOT causing any harm...I'm guessing Ford won't recall all the new v8's just to fix a whistle...or would they? BTW, he was NOT aware of the rattle when letting off the gas during acceleration (which goes away when everything is warmed up). I will call Ford directly on Monday and start a case number as well...

they probably wont issue a recall. But if enough people complain, they may put out a tsb for a repair that would be covered in warranty only. I got to imagine this noise will cost them future sales. I wont buy another one it still whistles in a couple years lol.

I found this post on a forum about mustangs and whistling from their intakes/throttle bodies...any knowledgeable mechanics care to opine?

TB whistle solution!Ok to clear up all of the confusion of how to fix this problem if you look closely on the stock TB you will notice that there is a small hole on the actual blade of the throttle blade so what you need to do is take an "3/32 drill bit and drill a hole in the same place that the stock TB does and this will solve all of your problems. I know it sounds weird but there's a reason why Ford did it from the factory lol. I've had to do this on Accufab, BBK and PP throttle body's and it worked every time. So I hope this works for you HoosierBuddy. And also by drilling this hole it will not hurt your idle performance!

I have the same whistle from my ecoboost, and found out its exhaust manifolds leaking. So have any of you V-8 guys checked that?

It's not the exhaust manifolds, I know the sound you're talking about, I've changed my fair share of 3.5 manifolds when the rear stud lets go. That sound is the whistle of the turbo and has a distinct sound.

The 5.0 whistle is coming from something intake related: Intake Piping, Throttle Body, Intake Manifold. Anyone who has installed a cold air intake on an engine will be familiar with the whisle from the intake that is only noticeable at certain throttle positions/load. The noise is annoying, but it wont cause any engine damage... it's simply a design characteristic.

I have a 15 5.0. dealer has told me also it was turbos. i found it to be an exhaust leak on the y pipe where drivers side cat connects to next pipe about under the drivers seat.

Did you ask the dealer to show you where the turbos are at on your 2015 5.0 F-150[haha]?
