If you do this in deep snow you can bet you'll never get stuck. TC will not even let you move

Most vehicles with TC throttle retarding, advice in their owners manuals to disable the TC when in deep snow and sand, so as to let wheel spin get them out.

People who don't live near snow or sand probably don't know this though.

If your vehicle is stuck in mud or snow,
switching traction control off may be
beneficial as this allows the wheels to spin.

Before I owned my previous F150, all the other 4x4 trucks I've daily driven were lended by the companies I worked for and I had absolutely no notion of how the 4x4 was working on them. I pretty much guess they were all LS differentials. Luckily, never got stuck since I thought I could count on the systems when needed...

My truck with an Open Diff made me read a lot about how to start moving through deep snow, because the first time I needed 4x4 and couldn't gain momentum, I ended up shutting the engine off, getting inside the house, googling WTH was going on and landed on this forum.
All the questions were answered, then I got excited and it was the beginning of a ritual of coming here every bit of free time to learn how to try out new stuff i didn't even know I could do in a truck.
