Exclamation 18 3.5 Eco snow stuck

Well tonight I got caught up in the snow in the 18 3.31 3.5 Eco. While dealer stated there would be no issue because I didn't tow the truck the 3.31 gear be a great for for me, I have to say it was the greatest disappointment. The area I ride does not change and the 3.31 was harboring to keep the torque on the 10 speed. In the past, same area and road the 6 speed 3.55 had NO issue. Also I have had 3.55 and 3.73 and now 3.31 gears and Ford keeps telling me 3.31 will get me the best MPG results. Have to say my driving habits have not changed and the 3.31 gets the worst MPG of all the F150s Ive owned..

Lower ratio rearend gears will get you stuck faster. More spin per rev.

I'll gladly jump on board with the previous posters asking "wat" you're talking about.

I think it might be helpful to look at the gear ratios of the 10-speed transmission vs. the old 6-speed.

I believe you'll find that 1st gear is so much lower, that it really doesn't matter what rear-end ratio you choose, and at the high end, the overdrive ratio on the 10-speed is so much higher, that you can achieve great MPG's as well.

Here's the chart someone else put together (attached).

Here's the post that it's from:
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/gear-...2017-a-378166/

All this to say, if I was to get a new f150, i'd opt for the 3.31 rear end.
I don't think it matters now which one you get as the transmission has such a wide range.

Your truck is a lemon... Broken.....

I will re iterative... My 2018 runs circles around my 2015.... ZERO issues in the snow or towing a 8000lb trailer.... The 10sp 3.31 has a better gearing advantage over the 6sp 3.73.... So therefore your truck is a lemon, its broken...
