Default 1720 lbs in the bed of my Platinum. Not too Shabby

I had a load of brick to get rid of at the dump yesterday. The way the truck was sitting I didn't think it was anywhere near a ton of weight. The weight slip tells the tale.

I loaded 50 40lb bags of wood pellets for my stove in the back of my truck. It felt every bit like 2000lbs of stuff back there. Bit it had no problems with power or stopping.

I normally load 1000 pounds of horse food and shavings in my 502 and it barely drops. That is also about the only time the truck rides nice.

You guys notice how AWESOME the ride is when it's really loaded down like that? Like a big ol' Caddy!

As long as you're not on your bumpstops of course

Yeah, but you can also watch the fuel needle moving! Otherwise I would always drive it loaded!

Funny how it rides best when it's being used as a truck not a car. Shows that Ford built these trucks to work.

Was there a GM marketing crew with cameras waiting to document the "real world" carnage to your inferior aluminum bed?!

I've not had more than 500 lbs in my bed. Glad to see it can handle a lot more well!

Love to see the Payload stickers of the two trucks. A 2,000 pound payload would be highly unusual. Bet at least one, possibly both, were over capacity. Fine for a short trip, driven cautiously.
