16 tailgate removal
Last night, I installed the OEM tailgate damper to soften the drop on my tailgate. Watched a video,had my tools ready, took the right side out, and then....stuck. The left side would not come out. I pulled, twisted, angled, hit with a rubber mallet.....nothing. I couldn't get tye tailgate off to save my life. I was able to angle just enough to still install the damper attachment. But, I never got the tailgate off. Is something put of alignment on my tailgate, or is there a trick to sliding the left side out?

Same here, never did get the drivers side out. Just put a folding table there with a few old towels on it, set the passenger side on it. All you need is a few inches to work with anyway.
Not sure whats in that left side hinge cup, but it was NOT letting loose.

My 2015 is the same - had my neighbor come over to give me a hand - followed the directions in the manual, had the passenger side off and tilted it to 80 degrees to remove the driver's side......yeah......no. And I had already removed the tailgate assist which is on mine which was simply two bolts on the passenger side......couldn't find any videos on it either.
