Default '15, '16s seem to be very low to ground...

I haven't seen many new F150s on road around me until recently, and I've noticed that they sure sit a lot lower than older models. Yesterday on a road trip, one was parked at same restaurant we stopped at, pulled in to parking place, and that thingamajig plastic in the front was touching the curb! A low curb too. My '02 had plenty of space. Then, I saw another new F150 riding down the interstate, man that thing looked low to the road! I wonder why Ford made them so much lower? What say ye all?

to me they do look low to the ground also, but I just traded my f250 (lifted 3in on 35's, so I was ridin kinda high) a few days ago for the 16 f150 so to me its a very strange feeling anyway.

Yeah the F150 has like 9.1" of ground clearance and the front air dam is about 4-5"

That's why air dam removal was mod one for me

They do it for mpg . If you look were the doors are its actualy higher than the dodge i had. Once the snow melts im putting a leveling kit and removing the front plastic skirt. Should give me arount 4 to 6 inch in the front. What i like about it is that you can remove the skirt. Looking at my neibor ram looks like his skirt is part of the bumber

Step bars and front air dam. Take both off, and it will look high off the ground.

When I removed my air dam it was -30 out. The little tabs snapped right off which was perfect for me.

I went from a 2011 Scab to a 2016 SCrew both 2wd. The 2011 was definitely higher at the door sill. It had running boards and we needed them. The 2016 has no running boards and I'm considering not installing them. Was going to get the Amps but procrastinated. Might have saved myself $1200-1500 by doing so.
I really liked the 2011. Great ride and comfort but the 2016 is really sooo much nicer.

When I traded from a 2004 chev Z71 to a 2015 f150, I figure the 2015 ford sits about two inches lower.

I think it's the opposite. I had a 2005 Silverado Z71 ext cab and I thought it sat lower than the my 2015 Lariat does. Those Silverados were damn low and there was no height difference between 2wd and 4wd. The new F150 still looks like it has more ground clearance than the new Silverados as well.
