I downloaded nova launcher. And just use google maps or wAze. Have no issues with the nav. Just drove all the way to myrtle beach from New York with no problems. Plays through my speakers as if it were factory.

Nice launcher gives it more of a phone/ tablet feel vs the crap interface they use

So my display just randomly cut out... no picture at all.... checked all connections and tried the reset button. Still nothing. Display flickers and nothing.

I have radio sound, volume up and down but that’s it. Already got messages in with Phoenix.

Any help or thoughts?

Well sadly they had no solution either. They want me to ship it back to them then once they receive it back in China they will ship me another unit out....

im not driving around for a few months with out a radio or anything in my center display.

It was cool while it lasted but I’m just going back to stock 4” display.... I’ll just save for the sync 3 8” upgrade and do it like it should be done

Just ask them to ship out a replacement unit before you send the old one back. They'll put a $400 hold on your credit card and you'll get refunded when the old unit ships back. I've done this before and all worked out.

That’s what they told me. But I’m not willing to let $400 of my hard earned money sit in limbo until they ship me another unit.
i originally ordered mine Jan 29th and didn’t receive it until April 15th. So I’m a bit apprehensive to let them hold on to more of my money for such a long time.

i will admit the dash does look funny with the 4” display back in there lmao. I’ll just wait and get the oem 8” with navigation so I can use the Navi on my cluster

it was cool to have and was for sure a conversation starter. Just think it needs a bit longer in development to live up to its potential

You may be past the return period then. Are they willing to give you a full refund or are they exchanging the unit? This would be a perfect opportunity to purchase the new PX6 chip unit and send the old one back. Yes you'll have to wait for the unit and use the 4in OEM screen but it might be worth the wait.

Why not just put in a Pioneer NEX stereo or another aftermarket brand like Alpine or Kenwood in your truck instead of OEM Sync? In my 2011 Lariat I swapped out the entire SYNC for a Pioneer NEX stereo and couldn't be happier. Sound was great and I used Android auto for everything.

Well, I've had my Gen 1 for over a year and I couldn't be happier. I've even installed a FireTV with mine.

From what we can tell, Phoenix and Linkswell are the same units.

Same as KillinTime, I've had my Gen one for probably the longest or one of the longest on this forum. I have gotten my money worth and more. I am completely happy with it.

I have the gen 1 2gb ram one, lot of the initial reviews were the 1gb memory ones and those were kind of sluggish switching between apps and such and got bad rep.

Other than the long start up time of about 30 seconds, ( however remember the back up camera is ready and working even if the unit is not fully booted so not a big deal) and the occasional app that many not work on Android 4.4.4. the only app I've found that I use that has any issue with is Pandora, it's not the lat st version of the app that interacts with Waze from the Waze map screen. But the Pandora app I do have works fine from the home screen and works with steering wheel controls while Waze map is up.

The "Fast Boot" versions are just gen 1s like I have, but with different boot or way it's wired in order to have it boot in only like 7 seconds. Still has the older 4.4.4 Android (o think, someone with one can correct me) but it does boot fast.

The newer PX6 models have the new six core CPUs, mem is the same though. They have Android 8.0. however I heard somewhere that they take 30ish seconds to boot. Again someone can correct me if I'm wrong lol.

Also the new PX6 use your exciting radio more, and has some passthrough option for sync 2 and 3. The gen one you just remove a couple boards off your ac and such, your radio comes completely out.
