Yes it is. I drive everything and while I think all systems are pretty terrible, I completely agree U connect is the best. I really really don't like Dodge, but If I could rip U Connect out of the new Laramie and shove it in the F150 I'd do it today.

I was about to order one and I noticed the GMC and Chevy have a new version coming out with Android 7.1 and faster boot times. Does anyone know if they're doing this for the F150 soon? If I order now, will I be able to upgrade later?

Very interesting thread, modification. My own take is yes, very cool and has the wow factor but not yet ready for prime time and I think the more the get the bugs worked out the more expensive it will become. If you are upgrading from and older truck with Sync 2 and you are out of warranty and looking for some flash, maybe try it. But if you got a fairly new truck still under warranty, I think you'd be taking a hell of a risk spending 1500 to 2000 to make the swap and then have the dealer tell you they can't help you when your a/c goes on the fritz or whatever problem you might have. If these import tariff take hold that might certainly put the squeeze on them and make it less attractive and maybe even hard to service later on. But I suppose nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

Post up a video with it in action and good luck.

They do not cost $2000, at least not if you buy from Phoenix, the others seem to be marking them up a lot for the same unit. I agree, for the $1200+ that some of the other places are trying to charge for it, that would make the system much harder to justify. Also, a lot of the "bad reviews" are from the units with the 1gb/32gb setup, and 1gb on any tablet is pure garbage lol.

If something would ever going out on this unit, or the truck itself, swap it back to factory and bring it in.

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore so I just ordered one tonight. Thanks Boudreaux80 for the link and the help. I'll keep this updated as to when I get it since it's coming from China.

Really? 5 Days?!?!? That's unbelievable. That would be awesome if I could get it that quickly.

Do you have any screenshots of your homescreen? Are they using a custom launcher? I'm wondering because I'm thinking about trying to update mine to a PX5 board and not sure if the software lives on the board or somewhere else in the unit. If it's on the current PX3 board, I may be able to just transfer that over or download the latest updated files from Phoenix and give it a shot that way. If it doesn't work, I could always put the PX3 board back in.

Would I still be able to see my massage seat settings on this head unit?
